Well tomorrow is the 50 year mark of the ceasing of hostilities between the two sides in the Korean War. The war had lasted from 1951-1953 and cost countless lives as all three sides The U.S allied with the South Koreans vs. North Koreans fought through hilly, snowy and horrible terrain. I'm posting this in honor of all the brave men and women who fought and died there 50 years ago to prevent the spread of communism. This is also in honor to all our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines who are still sitting in foxholes, guarding barbed-wire fences ready to defend the western world yet again in case hostilities do break out between the sides. I'm pretty sure we may have had relatives that fought there at one point or served there.
I hate to say it. But legally the war is still going on, the armistice never ended the Korean War, it served only as a temporary cease-fire. Recently, shots were fired between the Two sides just a few weeks ago. And sometimes I hear rumors that there are small firefights exchanged on the 38th parallel everyday. I pray that we dont have to fight another costly war among this brutal front and that both sides in South and North Korea can come to a mutual agreement that will end up uniting their people for the sake of peace.
God Bless the World, God Bless our Troops and God Bless America
