The 55th Grammy Awards

This is what they call "music"?

I watched it. I enjoyed it. I'm a fan of all kinds of music these days with the exception of Rap. I used to be pretty set in my ways and only open to 60,'s & 70's rock but that's now long since changed.

I thought it was funny when Jennifer Lopez walked out on stage wearing a dress that showed her leg all the way up to her ......and said "I got the memo". It was a good thing that a few of the actresses ignored their dress code or it would have been the most boring awards show that I have ever watched. But I'm not complaining...because I just fast forward through the boring parts and it only took me a half hour to watch a three and a half hour program.;)

Jack White and Carrie Underwood, with their performances, basically told everyone to shut up while they taught class.
I didn't see it. But I have to say that I've tried out Jack White and I just don't get the fascination. I watched a whole concert because my son (the guitar player) is a huge Jack White fan. He watched it with me and said it wasn't really one of his better shows, but I didn't see much to indicate that another show was needed for me. I just don't like it, and I like just about anything with good guitar work. I'm not saying other people can't enjoy it, just that I don't like it at all. I'm sure most of his fans wouldn't get my fascination with Joe Bonamassa or any of the many people who's music I enjoy quite a bit.

As I said in the other thread, if James Franco likes Call Me Maybe, all arguments against it are invalid.

I just have no patience for awful "music", and I don't want to celebrate the crap.
Other than the eye candy the award shows are pretty much useless (and Taylor Swift is old enough to tart tarting now). I mean like they hand them an award, and I going to change my opinion, as if a crappy work of idiocy has suddenly improved.

Anybody that lived through Disco should understand my intolerance. My people suffered terribly during the era. When we were finally liberated by rocks rebound in the 80s we were almost dead. After living through the horrors that the disco people inflicted upon us, I am comforted by the belief that there is a Hell for such people.

The BeeGees.....two down and two to go.

Me, too (except for the rap part. I gots a little Mark Martin in me).
I, too, was set in my ways way back then and then I (well, not me physically speaking) had a daughter and my music world was turned upside down.
Although I'm pretty much open to everything, country is still king in my truck.
At least, when I'm driving alone, that is.
