The 600 Qualifing

Jimmie not extremely fast... but we know he'll be right up there on Sunday night

Good run for B-LAB... Gordon not too hot at all, but he had to go out early

Didn't Nascar let them change something this week? Mikey's was so fast he coundn't hold on to it.

55 and 00 cars were junk, that's why they were so high in the corners... and why they both wrecked

Toyota made a few changes in their engines for better acceleration, but that could hurt top speed a little

I don't have speed but someone told me Mikey hit HARD.

Mikey's crash was very hard... UGLY crash. Swerved to miss the outside wall and turned straight into the inside wall

BILL ELLIOTT makes the race on speed... won't have to take a provisional

Guys I really think Mikey has forgotten how to drive. Do you know what I mean? Any one of us in our choice of sport has hit a brick wall in our lifetime. Bowling, Golf, Basketball, racing, whatever. What do you do when you start to make mistakes? You press too hard. You start doing stupid things to try and fix those problems. I honestly think Mikey is out to lunch with his set ups now. He has forgotten how to tell someone how he likes his cars. They are junk. Thoughts?

Mikey sure has a problem. I think he was just trying too hard to make the field and lost it.

Sure it is one race however I have always thought of DJ as being a great driver. I know he can do it with the right people and at least a decent car. I will be estatic if he can bring home a top 25 Sunday.

Thoughts? Well, I think you have a valid point. Waltrip is, IMO, a so-so driver but should be able to make some races. Something's going on there

Don't quite agree on that. First off, if you notice his times, many times he's faster than many of the top 35, but when you have others who are out of the top 35 that are faster, he misses the show. I venture to say that had he not been penalized those points at Daytona, he might actually be in the top 35, but then again, probably not. :) Still, he shows that he's not the worst each and every race, but he just can't quite make it into the show.

He's a so so driver...always has been and always will be....and now he's trying way too hard in qualifying and its killing him. How much longer is Napa going to put up with this?

That is my point. He is IMO trying way too hard. With each race that he does not make it adds just that much more pressure for him to qualify for the next one. I understand you all feel that he is a so so driver. If he has decent equipment I think he can be a top twenty driver. He was doing pretty well with Jr's equipment a few years ago. He just had a lot of bad luck.
