The best fights of NASCAR

Ok. Most confrontations in NASCAR aren't really fights. They're more of the skirmish variety. But they're fun to watch. With the recent outbreak of on and off track disagreements, I thought I'd post this thread.

What do you recall to be some of the more classic dust ups of NASCAR? Other than the one that put NASCAR on the map (1979 Daytona 500).

So, without further adieu ....

One of my favorites - with real live punches being thrown!

Here's a nice collection of fights!

Another funny one -- only time I could ever understand the words coming out of Ward's mouth.

I sure do miss Old Bristol.

Nothing will ever outdo the infamous dropkick.

ARCA sanctioned late models, Toledo Speedway, 2006 Glass City 200.

Includes additional Keith Olbermann snark for added interest.

I must say Wally sounds like an idiot in the link I posted Kahne was nowhere near the corner...

Ok, now THAT was AWESOME! "Driver uses "Drop Kick: It's Super Effective!"

A fight at Bowman between Burt Myers and Junior Miller.

Someone send that "Drop kick fight" footage to Dana White! Quick!

Lol @ how this piece was put together:

The best fights took place before most races were on TV. There used to be some big-time fights back then.

Not sure what Kyle's issue is here, but then again, something about Bobby Hillin just got on everyone's bad side back then.

I think the biggest fight NASCAR ever had was probably between the fans and the drivers. My uncle frequented Weaverville and the 60s, and was there for the infamous riot that took place in August of '61. They had to stop the race when the track started coming apart, and chunks of asphault were flying into the stands. The race was called early, and for some reason the fans were having none of it. My uncle said somebody parked a flat bed at the exit so nobody could get out, and a crowd started throwing rocks at drivers and officials. He said at one point, Ned Jarrett and Bud Moore wielded 2x4s to wade through the crowd and get out of there. He and a bunch of other people who wanted nothing to do with the riot slipped out around the back of the track.

I went to Weaverville as a young kid in '66, and luckily the race ran the scheduled distance. :)

Yeah not sure why Kyles mad he is the one who drove into it like an ARCA wreck.

That is some classic footage. You can read Kyle's lips as he shouts to Hillin ,"Shut up! Shut up!" at the 1:39 mark. Kyle then proceeds to close Hillin's helmet visor. Lol.

One of my favorite Daytona 500s.

Kasey Kahne Vs Tony Stewart pit crew fight! lol

I was sitting right there in the stands where that went down. The whole section wanted Stewarts blood that day. He didnt even do a burn out because everybody was pissed. But that just pissed everybody off more that he didnt do one lol.
