The Best Turkey Frying Disasters on the Internet

Although a mighty delicious tradition, deep-frying a turkey on Thanksgiving can be risky.

Every year deep-fryer fires are responsible for five deaths, 60 injuries, the destruction of 900 homes, and more than $15-million in property damage, according to the National Fire Protection Association.

So you want to know which state has the most accidents?

Was up at my Brothers place a few years back and he was fixing to deep fry a turkey. He told me as how they always bought "fresh turkeys" (never frozen) to avoid disasters. Just before he dunked the turkey my old navy training kicked in and I reached in the cavity just to double check...pulled out a chunk of ice as big as a softball. Was he ever pissed :D.

Perhaps it's because I'm from the west coast.. but I have never enjoyed a deep fried turkey on thanksgiving. That sounds freaking epic! Way sketchier than baking it at 325 degrees for a week though... Someday I will take this leap of faith.
