Ricky Craven (7th) has his best starting spot since he lined up 6th at
Dover in June.

Ward Burton (9th) has his best starting spot since he lined up 5th at
Michigan in June.

Jimmy Spencer (11th) had his best time trial since he qualified 9th at
Martinsville in April.

Derrike Cope (29th) has his best starting spot since he qualified 26th
at Las Vegas in March of 2000 (only 6 races).

Scott Wimmer (31st) makes his second career WC start. He started 31st
at Atlanta in November of 2000 (and finished 22nd).

Lance Hooper (43rd) makes his first start since Atlanta last November.

STREAKIN....Bill Elliott has 7 Top-10 starts in a row and 12 Top-10
starts in the last 13 races.
Michael Waltrip has 4 Top-5 starts in the last 5 races.

I think Derrike Cope deserves some mention for that 29th place start. I'd like to see him do well, but I'm not expecting heroics. A top 25 would be very good for that team.

The Rock Chalk is in the house!:)

Scott and Derrike both deserve a big "well done" along with their crews and ownders. Breaking in to Winston Cup is one of the hardest things to do in motor racing.
