Well, he certainly wasn't the hottest name out there, but I like the choice. Everybody was orgasmically happy when they hired Mike Holmgren as team president a few years ago and how did that work out? I don't think anybody is guaranteed success.

Rob Chudzinski is a very good offensive mind. He was the Browns offensive coordinator in 2007 when they went 10-6 and had a very exciting team. The guy sent Derek freaking! Anderson to the pro bowl! If he can do that, he obviously has some serious talent. He was the offensive coordinator in Carolina where he helped Cam Newton have more success than I, personally, thought Newton would have.

Chudzinski also was born and raised in Toledo, Ohio and grew up a huge Browns fan. I like that a lot. It's certainly not a prerequisite for coming here, but it is a good thing.

In addition, the rumor is that he is bringing Norv Turner as his offensive coordinator. That would be a great hire! You can say what you want about Turner as a head coach (where he sucked) but he is a truly great offensive coordinator. He won 3 Super Bowls in Dallas. Chudzinski was the TE coach in San Diego under Turner and the two are reportedly very close.

Liked this hire, the Turner hire, and the Horton hire. I don't think Haslam is going to be as accepting to losing as the previous owner was. It looks like Haslam will spend the money to turn the Browns around and start winning again. The only real negative I have so far about the changes is switching from the 4-3 to the 3-4.

I'm with you on that. If you have several great linebackers I can see how the 3-4 would benefit you, but we don't have any. D'Qwell Jackson is above average when healthy, but nobody else has really shown anything so far. The 4-3 tends to put a lot more pressure on the quarterback and, since the NFL has disallowed playing defense on the receivers, that's the only way to really stop an offense.

The 49ers disagree. :D

But agree with everything you said. Just excited to see what happens under the new owner.
Thanks. I'm kind of excited about the new ownership. Not happy at all about Mike Lombardi being brought back, and Joe Banner is allegedly a salary cap expert with very little expertise in talent evaluation. I'm still excited though. It has to be better than Randy Lerner.

Lol.. do we disagree on anything? Ha. I hated the Lombardi and Banner as well. Banner is a money man, not a talent man. Hes a hard ass come contract time and makes a lot of players unhappy, which obviously isn't always a good thing.

Banner is responsibile a bit for the current Eagles...so...

That's kinda my point... Lol

Although, I do believe he had more power in Philly than he will in Cleveland though.
