The BS is gone! The BS is gone! The BS is gone!

Who'll bet me that when this comes about that their will be a team that feels they have been snubbed for not making the playoff. Nothing will ever completely satisfy everyone. It's still a popularity contest. Until they have something that is akin to the NCAA basketball tourney, it won't be a true title and even then, someone will feel slighted. On the other hand, this will stop the crying for a few years.

I really wanted an 8-team playoff, but I'm certainly not gonna cry about this. I've been wanting a playoff system for years now.

Four team playoff is still a damn joke. Should do more like Basketball. Still got room for to much politics in this.

There will always be room for politics, Nick. Look at the NCAA tournament. They have 68 teams and there is still controversy over teams that feel they were snubbed. It's also not nearly as simple to play a football game as it is to play a basketball game. Anything bigger than 8 teams would be counterproductive. It would seriously devalue regular season games if you could lose two games and still get into the playoffs. Four doesn't seem right either though. It still freezes out teams like Boise State. Eight just makes a lot more sense to me than any other number.

I like that a conference championship gets priority now. Alabama should have played Virginia Tech in the Sugar Bowl. But they wanted Alabama in the National Championship and they made it happen.
