They gave effort for pretty much the entire game and they actually won. I actually quit recording and watching the games a week or two ago, even though basketball is my favorite sport and, as most of you know, I am a sports junkie. I just couldn't take their lack of effort/character any more. I checked in on the game a few minutes into the second half last night and they were trying and winning so I watched the rest of it. It was really nice to see. I guess losing at home to the Lakers, who came into town on a 7 game losing streak and only suited up 8 healthy players, the other night was a wake up call. The owner fired the GM Chris Grant after that game. It is widely reported that two players in particular, Dion Waiters and Kyrie Irving, have serious attitude and effort problems that have resulted in being kicked out of practice. However, until the other night, none of that had affected their playing time. Kyrie Irving was finally sat down for the second half of the Lakers game, apparently for a lack of effort and team play. That seemed to get his attention, as he had a season high 12 assists by early in the third quarter last night. One game certainly doesn't mean that they suddenly get it, but it's a start and it was nice to see some effort and professionalism for a change.

The Lakers absolutely smoked them with 7 players the other night. Pretty sure Mike Brown's days are numbered... Again.

You know, it seems like several of the players would like nothing more than that. But, unfortunately, he just signed a 5 year contract for $20 million before the season. I don't see Dan Gilbert just biting the bullet and paying a guy $20 million to not coach his team, mostly because some of his players don't like being asked to hustle and play defense. He may not be a great coach, but he is a better coach than this teams record is showing. The talent on this team is better than their record as well. A few of these guys need to sick it up and accept that he is the coach and he has the team's best interest in mind and that if they all work together they might just get what they want, unless what these guys really want us to promote their "brand" as Kyrie is fond of saying. In that case, no Brown is not the coach for them. A guy like Mike D'Antoni might be. They can just continue on in the footsteps of guys like Carmelo Anthony who are happy to have nice stats and sell a lot of shoes and jerseys and never win a damn thing.

I've felt bad for Cleveland fans for many years... No light at the end of the tunnel

Actully, we do see a light at the end of the tunnel with the Browns. They really are not a terrible team.

Really? Idk I'm pretty uninformed with Browns football.. But right on they could use a good season haha

@DUN24 you quoted me earlier on the motorcross forum? You know I have a bet going and cant go in there!

What's up?

Oh and back to the thread..

There are rumors going around that Irving wants out of Cleveland.

Lebron left that organizations in such shambles is sad.

You even have new comers like Leoul Deng trash talking them. lol

He said they are a messy organization..

As Deng recently told one close friend, “the stuff going on in practice would never be tolerated by the coaching staff or the front office back in Chicago. It’s a mess.”

Deng was brought in to help clean it up when he arrived in a deal for Andrew Bynum on Jan. 7. But since then, he’s seen players get thrown out of practice, take off their uniform tops at halftime and threaten not to play, mouth off to Brown and generally act like spoiled brats. …

There is no accountability, as Dion Waiters found out when he was kicked out of practice last week but still got his usual minutes against the Knicks.

That's sad.

Dan Gilbert has himself to blame for that organization being in shambles, not Lebron. Gilbert did nothing to upgrade his team that year in case Lebron went elsewhere.

Lebron was a part of that though.

Dan Gilbert went on a rant and on a personal vendetta guaranteeing championships instead of focusing on the team.

That was all a part of Lebron leaving. Of course its not his fault but still, it added to the mess.

They have talent all over the field. 6 pro bowlers, which was 3rd most amongst any team. Our QB situation cost us quite a few games last season. We had one competent QB, and the team went 3-0 with him under center until he got hurt. They are one of the youngest teams in the NFL, have 2 first round picks this year, and a ton of cap room. I think almost half their losses last year were by 8 points or less, and they had the lead going into the 4th quarter in a lot of those games, they just couldn't close it out.

Christmas has come early for the Browns!!!!! As many know from the NFL 2013 thread, I absolutely despise Joe Banner and Mike Lombardi. I wake up this morning to find that Jimmy Haslam fired not one, but BOTH of those clowns! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Ray Farmer is the new GM. It was widely rumored that the two had nothing to do with the coach search, I guess this validates that. My faith in Jimmy has been restored!!!

Absolutely fabulous news I saw this morning when I got on Facebook. Those two @sshats did nothing but screw up with impunity since they arrived in town. They made a lot of horrible personnel decisions, bad draft choices, and bad free agent signings. On top of that, they fired what may have been a pretty good coach because he couldn't win without a quarterback or a running back worthy of being a starter in the NFL. Joe Banner brought in Mike Lombardi, a man virtually everybody thought of as basically incompetent, to be the GM because he knew that Mike was a friend of his who would just be grateful to have a job and do whatever Banner wanted him to do and just simply run around telling Banner what he wanted to hear, which apparently was how great he though Banner was.

I guess Jimmy Haslem didn't like being referred to as part of these Three Stooges, huh?

Look at it this way, your Cavs are better then my Sixers, I think we lost our last 2 games by a combined total of 88 points.
