Who else thinks the Chase for the Championship needs a road course to be viewed as credible.

I think they should either take a date from Dover and move it to New Jersey, take a date from Texas or one of the other midwest tracks and move it to Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, or take a date from Atlanta and move it to Road Atlanta.

Wait for the poll...

I just don't understand why nascar does not have one in the chase. It would show that the champion should be able to win at any type of race track. Road Atlanta would be very cool in a stock car. That track would show who can race and who is riding around.

They need the chase tracks to be at tracks that do not have races the rest of the season for cup. Needs a road course im just not sure what one.

Nah, they need to have 10 races in different locales. You have two tracks from Illinois, two tracks from Tenessee, And every other track on there minus Rockingham is from the midwest.

They need to run 10 different areas. Maybe Eldora, New Jersey Motorsports Park, Rockingham, Nashville, Toyota Speedway at Irwindale, and so on and so on.

The worst part about NASCAR now is that all their races keep walking away and going to the Midwest region.

Disagree with Eldora. Eldora's a special place. Nascar would ruin it, IMO. Besides, they'd never run on dirt again.

I think, if they're going to make something of the Chase, they need to run 10 tracks in 10 different states that are not raced during the regular season.

They should do something like:
  1. Montreal Road Course
  2. Rockingham Raceway Park
  3. Kentucky Speedway
  4. Las Vegas Motor Speedway
  5. Evergreen Speedway (5/8 mile oval)
  6. Houston Raceway Park
  7. New Jersey Motorsports Park (2.25 mile road course)
  8. Nashville Speedway (1.5 mile concrete cookie-cutter)
  9. Homestead-Miami Motorsports Complex
  10. Toyota Speedway at Irwindale

kelloggs will come out of the closet soon. Those of us that know her have been patiently waiting for her to start cheering Jeff on to his next Championship. :)

I love it Muggle. I just read this to her on the phone and she said she was going to beat you. Don't worry I'll protect you.

I'd like to see all road courses go bye bye, get rid of them all. It is an added huge expense for teams to have to build cars for 2 road events a year. Add a couple of new tracks in place of the road events, sport cars and IRL cars belong on road courses not Cup cars.

NO WAY! Having a race at The Glen is the only way I get to see NASCAR up close and personal! Besides.... remember which race was voted the BEST by Sports Illustrated last year? Uh yeah...that would be The Glen!!!

I would agree with Mopard but then every 3 years or so we get a really decent road course race. But overall they are crappy snooze fests that we can do without.

Last year's Glen race was a greast race, with a little bit of everything, but that seems to be an exception rather than a rule. (I mean, it's not every day that a race fan climbs the wall and tries to get an autograph from a driver in a car during a red flag...)

I'd forgot about that. WNY were you PO'd that you didn't get the autograph... :D

Exactly and you get all these specialists trying to race in the event, that's another thing i don't like. if they are going to have road races the drivers of said cars should have to race not ringers replacing them.

just remember though..... it was SPORTS ILL...... that voted it best.....lmao.
no road courses...... bring back DIRT!

I was PO'd Jeffy wheel-hopped himself right out of a win!! I love Tony, but my Jeffy comes first. ;) It didn't help that I was up on my feet yelling, "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!," and my husband and son were saying, "HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!" Then Smoke didn't even climb the fence since they wanted to get off the air as fast as possible since the race went so long. Grrrrrrrr... that might have made it a bit better for me.. but probably not. It took me a few days to get over that one. LOL

I wasn't at the race last year, but I'm going this year and I'll work on that autograph and I want retribution!! LOL :D

Then there was Harvick and Juan playing "Rockem Sockem Robots," Carl plowing through the "kitty litter" and making it out, among other things. They banned that guy from the track, but I mean come on, all he has to do is having someone else buy his ticket. LOL I did hear Matt was supposed to set him up with some stuff for his trouble. He did get arrested. LOL

I agree with you there. Although, the "ringers" haven't done all that great the last few races anyway. Maybe they finished a little better and got some points, although some of them haven't helped one bit.

All the "Said Heads" at The Glen would probably go nuts though. Although one year when he didn't end up driving, my daughter met him in the motel bar and he was drunk as a skunk and bought my daughter a drink. I don't think he would have been in that great of shape if he had been called in to drive for someone else the next day. LOL

Dirt might be great with smaller cars, but acck.. these beasts might send everyone running for the hills or they'd have to have a lot of oxygen on hand for the fans. LOL Now a beach race would be cool, although sand in the eyes isn't much fun either. heh heh :D

So it was SI. They sold me a magazine for once. ROFL :lol2:
