The 'Cup Stars Are Staying Away

from the truck and N'wide series at Gateway for the most part this weekend. Harvick's entered in both races while Edwards and Keselowski will run Saturday. David Ragan (if you can call him a star) is going to enter Bruton's Legends event. :)

A couple of Truck drivers are going to be racing Saturday Night at Old Dominion Speedway in Manassas, VA. Big 150 lap late model race there. If I didn't have to work (for the 18th consecutive Saturday Night:mad:), I'd be there in a minute.

Even if he does suk.I think it's really wrong that a Cup regular is entering the Legends event.

David and his dad have been involved in this series for a long time. They try to develop new drivers in the series and just have fun with some of the young crowd.

You have your opinion about David and I have mine. I believe he has had some hard times and has struggled like most of the Roush drivers the last couple of years. He seems to fall victim to others' mistakes as well as problems with his own car or crew. Maybe it is just the matter of finding the right combination but I feel that David has good potential and can win. Sometimes it just takes some drivers a little longer than others.

I will say one thing about David and his family.............. they are good people and David is a real gentleman. He does much non-profit work in the community and I truly enjoy working with this young man.

David is a winner in my book.

If he's going there for fun and help his developmental driver that's great and more power to him but if he's going there to compete against the regulars I think that's wrong. That would be like a high school kid going down to the elementary school playground looking for a fight.

You do know that Geoff Bodine has also entered this race don't you. I'm rooting for 18 year old Kenzie Ruston from Oklahoma...probably because she's from OK. I'd love to go see these races, but the wife insists that we stay around and watch our locals at the Madhouse. BTW, every year, the Madhouse schedules the legends and bandelaros at the stadium and they put on a great show. The track is perfect for those cars.

Betcha can't guess who's on the front row for tonight's truck race! ;)

This is not good- they've traced the power failure at Gateway to a swamp in East St. Louis. :(

Can't blame 'em- I wouldn't want to go into an ESL swamp at night either!

heck I saw East Saint Louis in daylight and it was bad

Once a year, we our local promoter brings a couple of cup drivers in to our local track for a feature race . We go to see them . I don't even feel guilty. I'm sure the people in Gateway don't mind going to see Harvick and company.I don't understand why everyone thinks they shouldn't be there.

lol. this struck me as funny. anyone else here remember working 6 and often 7 days a week straight for years? i'd wager some here still do without the bitc****. many people would (or use to) consider this the norm when starting out in the workforce. sorry andy, no sympathy here. <g>
