When asked about the blow the wreck had on his championship hopes, Earnhardt Jr. said, "Man, I just hope I don't have to get back into that piece of crap today. Hopefully, I can go home."

Ah the hell with all those guys back at the shop who worked about 16 hours a day getting the car ready while I was doing my Thang!!!!! ...........Right Jr?

With your attitude Jr. know wonder you get a piece of crap car!!!!!
 
And if he had gotten back in that piece of crap car after wrecking like he did I suppose you would have applauded him for giving it his yeoman's best!! :) The car was wrecked for crying out loud........even if he could have maintained minimum speed how many would have complained about him being a menace to the other drivers while he was just making laps to gain one, possibly two, finishing positions?

And, Jr has been getting crap cars all season. Crap cars for him anyway......one driver's dream car is another driver's nightmare. New team, remember? :) Time will tell if this season's changes for the 8 car were best........long haul stuff. :) How many truly expected Jr to burn em up this year after starting over with all the changes? I know I was hoping he would but I never expected it to be true.

But, I suppose all you Jr haters will have a field day with his post wreck interview. But no one can say they heard him whine about his season. I can think a few drivers who would be crying if they were in his position.
 
jr. needs to race for some other team..hmmm richard childress sounds about right.. DEI is falling to pieces

Why is it that DEI has a bad season that the whole organization is falling apart? :) Actually, it's really only one team in that organization that has really fallen off from last year. Mikey and the 15 team is doing better this year over last year (and the year before, and the year before......), but Mikey never was all that hot as a driver, and the 1 team was put on hold a couple years ago. Jr's having a bad season. But, then Jeff Gordon's season isn't much better!! :) Is HMS falling apart too? :) Hey, how about Penske? Ryan isn't setting the world on fire this season either.

Someone predicted a couple weeks ago that DEI would be history in 5 years. I guess people are buying that prediction........and buying it based on one bad season. Using that logic there would not be a Roush Racing, Penske Racing, Robert Yates Racing and Woods Brothers Racing............they all have had several years running of rotten seasons.

But, DEI is dead.............yeah, keep dreaming!!! :D
 
^ well whose to say DEI will be gone forever? not me that's for sure...whoever said that..well needs to watch nascar some more..anyways i said it was falling to pieces because of what's happenening to dale jr. and michael waltrip leaving DEI, lets just say that DEI is taking a mayor beating this year.
 
I'll concede that DEI is taking a major beating this year. Mikey should have been gone last season. The management shouldn't have dictated such drastic changes in one season. Eggs shouldn't have been all in one basket. So many things shouldn't have been............or so my opinion says. But, it isn't the end of the world for Jr fans, Mikey fans or DEI fans...........it's one season of many. Time will tell if it is a season to look proudly back on or a season to forget. There are still some 14 or 15 races left this year.......things could change. Anyone can diss and scoff DEI........but like the dissers and scoffers of HMS (what? 4 years ago?) when Gordon was having a miserable year and HMS was going into the history books of "has beens", get ready to eat crow in the near future.

I sure enjoyed watching the ABG'ers eat it when Gordon won his 4th!!! :)
 
Yes the car was wrecked. Yes he is having a bad season. But his comments this season about what he is driving have been one too many. How many times have we heard prior to a race that "Well were startin toward the back and I doubt we will make too much progress today based how the car performed in practice"...or "Well we will give it a try today, but we can't compete with those boys up front"...or after a race..."It's a shame we can't make the proper adjustments during a race" or "Our car was pretty much junk all day"......and then today when he called the car a piece of crap....

He called it a piece of crap and was not referring to a wrecked race car.

If I was a team member or crew chief I would respond with "too bad we don't have a driver who can help us adjust the car during a race" or "Shame we don't have a driver who is good enough to get the most out of a bad race car"

Look I don't hate Jr., and I hate it he lost his father................................but it's obvious to me that he can only drive a car when it's close to perfect and he has a poor attitude if the Great 8 (as NBC broadcasters call it) is not perfect. he is OVERRATED! and if he wasn't Dale Earnhardt Sr. Son with Jr. attached to it he would be twisting wrenches doing oil changes at the local Chevrolet dealer......he is an avg. driver at best. DEI should consider letting him go and look for a quality driver to get that team back on track.......so you fellas enjoy wacking off to your Dale Jr. poster you have beside your bed while us other race fans settle in and watch real drivers Stewart, Bush, Biffle, Johnson, Wallace, Martin fight it out for the Nextel Cup championship...............just what are the JR. worshippers going to do now that he is out of the chase......probably watch something else.

kinda hard to say if JR. referred to it as a piece of crap before or after the wreck. I would like to think it was after. In my eyes it was a piece of crap after that wreck.
Yes DEI is having a bad year compared to last year, my opinion ( and just an opinion ) is why would they make such major changes to a team that won 6 races last year including the Daytona 500 . I get the feeling they thought JR. could win regaurdless of what team he was with, and felt that Mikey needed all the help they could give him. It seems to have backfired and I think they will fix it.
Just like any big company, when management makes a decision it's an act of genious, and anyone at a lower ranking is an idiot for questioning their moves, and no matter what happens they will never admit a mistake.
Once again just an opinion. beers are on me

Hey Id be even more vocal if I was Jr. Part timers like Truex got a fantastic car and he gets that peice of crap? Thats unacceptable.

Sorry, I don't have any posters of Jr......heck, I don't even have any pictures of Jr!! :) I got one red Budwieser number 8 ball cap, one little tin toy car that Christmas candy came in, and a couple tee shirts that carry Dale Earnhardt, Jr stuff on them. So I guess I don't idolize Jr as much as you think I do.......I'm just a fan (quite different from a worshipper as you paint us to be) :). And I will enjoy the final ten races this season as much as I've enjoyed the races run so far.........been watching this game for way too many years to allow my favorite having a bad season to let it ruin my fun of watching NASCAR and a Championship won or lost by any driver! :D I'll be rooting against a couple and for many all the way to the final lap at Homestead. I believe I'm speaking for most Jr, Gordon, or any other driver fans who's drivers might not make the Chase this (or any) season. You see, most of us Jr fans are really and truly race fans.........hard to believe, huh? :)
 
Hell if i crashed and the car was that bad i would park it to.

I am on a race team that fileds 3 cars, and i sponcer around 10. so i know what im talking about when i say a car is crap. well one race dad bounced the mod off the wall, from the stands all it looked like was bent sheet metal and a bent front right wheel. well as soon as he got it to the pits, not only did we have that, but it bent EVERY piece of sheet metal, bent and busted the frame.

So from TV if looks like they could cut the nose off replace tand be good to go, but i bet the frame is bent in about 2-5 places. so in orther words, that car went from racecar to show car in 3 secs.
 
WP4x4 get up off your soapbox and put the pipe away. To call Junior and average race car driver is nothing but a load of crap. The guy has 16, count them, 16 career victories since 2000. If he were average then Nextel Cup would need to have a 100 race schedule to have enough career victories to pass around. He said his car was a piece of crap because that is exactly what it was. Heard much of Junior on the radio????? I think he gives plenty of input on what his car is doing and what he wants it to do. If the crew does not pay attention to him he for sure gets their attention. Two issues I see that every driver goes through. He right now is having issues with his equipment and chemistry. Plain and simple. The man can wheel a car just as well as the front runners. He has the balls to haul the car into the corner at more the 200 mph. If the equipment and chemistry is not there the best driver in the field would be, well in your books considered "average" I suppose.

as i've said many times before, I am NOT a Jr. fan...not a rabid anti Jr. type, but still not a fan. I applaud him for not getting in a wrecked car and getting either in the way or in another wreck. He has realized he isn't going to make the Chase and was classy enough to stay out of the car and race.
The guys who worked 16 hours a day to get it ready? How much would YOU love YOUR car after it got wrecked to hell and back like that? Do you think about the 1,000s of workng hands that touched that car in some way as it was manufactured? I doubt it. Jr DID show class by not ranting and raving about Mike Skinner wrecking him.
Just because you don't like a guy doesn't mean you should look for every instance in the world to make him look like a jerk.

actually you hear quite a few say that...Ron Hornaday said the same exact thing before the truck race started friday night.
 
I have heard plenty of driver's refer to their cars after bad races as pieces of crap. Even the people who build those cars from the ground up know not every car that comes out of the shop is going to be a great race car. They probably refer to those cars as pieces of crap too. It was not made as a personal comment towards any of those talented men/women who build them.


There is no excuse for that language in here. You can make a point without it and that is coming from someone (yours truly) who can make a trucker blush.

This is the one of the few sixth grade level comments seen in a long time.
It does not belong here but might be found in whispered conversations containing the childish, giggly comments among those with raging hormones and the same juvenile age group. Possibly with that age category they might be thought funny or cute.
It isn't necessary to make crude and childish remarks here in an effort to make a point, if there is a point. Bashing a drivers fans is not good manners nor is it conducive to hospitable discussion.

But then again, since the poster starting the thread did mention "classy", then offers the above comment, well, that pretty much tells us all we might want to know.
 
I thought it was cool that Jr could at least bring some hilairity to the situation. I really fell bad for the fans in red not being able to see their boy run again, who probably are 75% of the people there.

There aint much racing happening this year in my opinon, there always seems like there is just one or two cars who brought the right stuff and ends up running away with it.

Frankly, I think he was right about the car. They'd had trouble from the first day. Why spend the time trying to fix a piece of junk? Load up and get on down the road.
 
Just send Eury Jr. to the 8 team. Mikey sucks I like Mikey alot but even with Jr.'s equipment and crew he is a top 15 driver at most. Plus he is leaving why give him the best of the equipment.

Are you serious? That was Indianapolis and Tony Stewart is from about an hour away. Gordon grew up here as did Ryan Newman. I was in Turn 4 and there is no way that 75% of the people there were for Junior ... thank goodness.

He should handle the situation like a real pro does! Jeff Gordon gets in front of the media and says "WE" had a car "WE" couldn't do nothing with! Then latter he gets behind closed doors and FACES these team members and gives them the real deal, in thier face!!!!! Not in front of the media! But I guess if you are hardly around your car or crew its hard to tell people what you think of the job your doing!
