The finish of the race is on...

You don't have ESPN2? I had that even on cable.
No cable. Comcast cable costs $70/month now that the County's sealed it and they're the exclusive cable provider for the entire county minus La Plata.

Another reason I'm running for County Commissioner in 2010.

Sitting here biatching on the internet about the County isn't going to change anything. All of us residents biatching and going to public hearings voicing our complaints ain't gonna change anything. So there's only one other way to change things.

Comcast is the only cable company we have here too. It was at almost $60 bucks when I left them for Dish Network. I think the cable companies need more competition also. I love my Dish and would have a serious problem to even think about going back to cable.

I want Verizon FIOS but the County once again blocked them from coming. If I lived 2 miles away in PG, I could get it.

I have Dish Network. For less than $60/mo, I have 200 channels (including ESPN2, ESPNClassic, Speed), an HDDVR that I can get 2 different show on 2 different tvs at the same time. Oh, and I also get my local channels, too.

That's an awesome price for that many channels.

I don't have HD but my Dish Network for 200 channels and a DVR for 2 TVs is $49.95. Much cheaper than what Comcast wanted for about 70 channels.

I have local channels over OTA DTV, and everything else on time warner cable basic. I think combined i get 110ish channels.

I actually got my deal through my local phone company Embarq. I get local phone service with several extras on that and dsl (internet) and 200 channels of Dish Network + local channels for $120.00 per month. Not a bad price.

Darn, finally something Andy and I agree on. From everything I've heard from peeps who have VFIOS it is the absolute bomb. And, like Andy it's 1 county away...

There's just way too much bull**** involved with moving to another county in Maryland. Taxes, paperwork, government bs, etc. It's almost as dreadful as moving to another state. Otherwise, I would've moved a minute ago.

But there is a reason Chuck County is the most expensive place to live now. It's because there's one sole exclusive provider for everything.

I know the county and state love sticking it to the taxpayers (and they're getting ready to raise taxes again:eek::mad::eek:) but damn.

Apartments are $200-$500 cheaper in PG, but I don't feel too good about the probability of getting shot over there.
