The Gen 7 car is an absolute piece of trash. The stupid idiots at the executive table decided to create a spec car that doesn’t even race good at places like Bristol or Martinsville. This stupid car promotes “parity” aka RANDOMNESS that FOOLS people into believing B+ drivers like Tyler Reddick are better than Kyle Busch. Also the number placement is dumb. Furthermore these cars are NOT durable and are killing the brains of our favorite drivers like Kurt Busch and Bowman the Showman.

NASCAR should’ve kept the 2014 rules package and not gone to the stupid and dumb Gen 7.

Imagine thinking Reddick isn’t an awesome driver. Dude had some awesome races last year in inferior equipment, his drive at Homestead and on the short tracks was impressive as hell

As others have said on here numerous times already, I have enjoyed the racing at the intermediate tracks with the new car. The short tracks, not so much. However, I obviously don't enjoy seeing these guys get hurt. I wasn't planning to watch Talladega this weekend anyway, and now I'm even less inclined to do so. No thank you.

I'm sure NASCAR will figure it out in due time. I just hope that happens before anyone else gets hurt.

Overall rating for this car this season isn’t good. They need to fix the safety aspect, increase HP and decrease corner speed.

They saved 1.5s with this car, but sacrificed short tracks and road courses to do so. Shame really. By giving everyone huge brakes, the one area that you could separate yourself from someone else on these courses has been negated and now we have follow the leader on them. No surprise. For all things holy, MARTINSVILLE has turned into an aero track that you can't pass on. For F sake...

Yep, the "panacea" strikes again and ruins another race. Once again, you have no choice but to question the IQ of the people leading this sport.

Short tracks being "aero races" is such an absurd flop that it doesn't even make sense.

Martinsville. Remember back when getting to the inside of a guy more or less guaranteed a pass?

It's almost as if low downforce and high horsepower makes better racing.

And to piggy back off of this... PHOENIX.

Phoenix was just like Martinsville and Bristol this year..no passing. None whatsoever.

The championship race is going to come down to who leads on the final restart

This new car just plain sucks! :youliketh :booya:
The racing sucks however it could be because they have little boys or spoiled brats doing the driving.
Go back to have men behind the wheel who have to fix the car if they wreck it AND pay for the repairs.

Oh man, no passing. I wonder if a sign fell down

No passing? Go watch the race. There was plenty of passing, plenty of side by side racing, plenty of guys running close together, tire falloff, comers and goers, off throttle in the corners, green flag pit stops, and everything else that made 90's NASCAR the fastest growing sport in the world. This race was pretty lackluster compared to others from the '93 season, yet nobody complained.

Also, only two cautions all race. Irvan had the car to beat, and they couldn't touch him that day. So be it. No fake cautions, no stage breaks, no double file restarts or anything else that artificially inflates the number of passes or fake drama.

Who cares? Did you even bother to read anything I said? Apparently not. There's more to a race than the guy running up front. but try and read my post again a few times, and maybe something will click.

Where are all the stats on that :dunce:

Who needs stats, especially without the proper context? NASCAR doesn't race on paper. All you need is common sense and the power of eyesight.

Look, I know you're trying to prop up the current car and state of the sport, but ****ting on 90's NASCAR is just plain silly.

You are the one that appears silly. You said there was plenty of passing. Where's the proof? . I show 4 drivers splitting 6 laps and Ernie leading the rest.

While we would all love more passes for the lead, that doesn't tell the whole story. 2 Sweet is 100% right.

Since they managed to save the 1.5s, I feel it will be far easier for them to fix the short tracks. Road Courses I dont, im sure somebody could speak to how better than me. "more HP and less downforce"

I have confidence NASCAR will make changes and figure out the short tracks at the very least. They aren't naive, they know short tracks are their bread and butter.

Listening to Roval DBC episode now, and they're skewering the car. Needs at least 850 hp, is unsafe, too easy to drive, etc. All the usual points.

The Fox News of NASCAR media.

Was there a guest on the “show” that’s driven the car ... or any other race car ... anywhere?

Was there any mention of the drivers and fans wanting this new car to be harder to drive? All I hear these days is how hard the car is to drive. It seems that the small handful of drivers who drove for the monied teams, you know, the ones that won the majority of the races every week with the better cars that seem to be along with their buthurt followers trying to go back to the old days.

TJ Majors drove modifieds and late models. Tyler Reddick has been on recently, as well as Gragson. I know your question was rhetorical, but I answered anyway.

Along with Denny Hamlin, Justin Haley and Deegan have all been on this year.

Thanks to both of you. I meant the episode being discussed.

Based on the information provided by my favorite dentist (nobody likes dentists), TJ Majors is as qualified as I am to comment on how “easy” the new car is to drive.

I wouldn’t / couldn’t attest to that. Neither can he.

I object!! I LOVE the dentist haha. No seriously I do.

But on topic. I don't think its fair to make that statement. If the 3 spotters/hosts spend hours upon hours a week with drivers who presumably talk to them about how the car drives. I would respectfully say that hes more qualified to speak on how the cars are easier to drive. I don't think hes just making that up. I assume he's repeating what he's been told by many drivers.
