What did you think about the pass of Johnson Past Mikey I think it was fair and that Agreement Needs to leave. Its Obviously caused nothing but Controversy and confusion

:D There is no gentlemen agreement. Robbie and Jeff did away with that. Any driver that tries to be a nice guy will be left behind. :D

I agree. :)

The competition is closer than ever on the track these days IMO & most drivers realize that every position is so valuable & will do anything to keep a position regardless of the situation it's done under,JMO!

Hey! I'm a gentlemen, even hold doors open for women! But if we where on a race track running for a milion dollar championship- I'd run you over in a heartbeat

I agree totally with redrock

I would put the ol peddle to the metal unless someone told me otherwise...

The thing that gets me is why hasn't NASCAR made a ruling about this?

You can't tell me that in 40 some odd years of racing this is just NOW becoming an issue. More importantly, racing back under the caution could have potentially dangerous consequences, so why haven't they addressed it simply from a safety standpoint. I don't really care which way they choose, race or hold, but it just seems too common-place to be ignored.

Someone correct me if I;m wrong, but I doubt this started with Robbie and Jeff.......

No, Splunge, I don't think you are wrong in your assessment of this thing. And Mikey and Slugger are just the latest two to whine about passing under the yellow.

Catchfence Article

Ha ha! Sluggers' response only validates why Jimmie should have passed!

Slugger Labbe: "In our defense, a position is still a position and you can not predict what will happen from one lap to the next. What if Jimmie had a bad restart? We would have rather been in front of him than behind him, so even though he was ultimately faster, a position is still a position and like any other team out there, we looking for the best position we can be in.

Exactely! The fewer drivers you have to worry about screwing up the better!

I said earlier somewhere else, the 'gentleman' part comes how you handle yourself during and after the incident...Jimmie and Micheal (especailly) were very understanding and open about the situation and making sure that thier position is understood...Michael let Jimmie know he wasn't happy with his 'move' but at least he didn't ram into him or spin him later.....

It started with Matt & Jeff at Texas (at least this year). I did like Robbie's comments about JJ's pass on Mikey after the Chicago race though. :D

I personally say as long as they're not going through the accident area then race back to the line. JMO

F the gentleman's agreement. The drivers are out there to win, not make friends and be popular in the garage area.

Racing back to the line can be dangerous, but if none of the drivers follow the agreement it is useless to fight for it. I just hope nobody gets hurt :(

I second that.

For another thing, if a player gets injured in a football game, would you as the defensiveback let the wide receiver run to the end zone unguarded? This gentlemans agreement is f'ed up, and as long as there is breathable air on this Earth you should make every attempt to race people back to the flag. A majority of the fans and I dont want NASCAR to become like the IndyCar Series and deny people the win when it matters and again as long as there is breathable air on this Earth, this "Gentlemans agreement" will never become a NASCAR rule

You have also got to remember if there is no gentlemen agreement. And everyone is racing back to the line. The emergency crews can't get on the track. Something to think about.

Very good point. I doubt that there will ever be a solution which pleases everybody. Freezing the field seems like the most viable option as far as safety concerns go, and it looks like Nascar is heading that way also.

JJ got on my nerves in his post race interview....he said like 5 times......"i dont agree with it...but i did it anyways"

if you dont agree with it.....then dont do it damn..its not that hard.

i did like Robby's comments after the race...."Think about it"
