WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (AP)—Watkins Glen International thinks its got a heluva good title sponsor for its NASCAR Sprint Cup race.

Track officials say the dips and cheeses company Heluva Good! will sponsor the Aug. 9 event. It will be titled the Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at The Glen.

Heluva Good! is headquartered in Sodus, N.Y., about an hour drive north of the track. Company officials say they wanted to promote an event in the area.

Scott Blake, senior vice president of operations for Heluva Good!, says the deal is for one year and will be evaluated at the end of the season. Terms were not released, but the value of a Sprint Cup title sponsorship can exceed $1 million.

Track officials also say ticket prices are being reduced for grandstand seats.

Heluva LONG NAME for the weekend! Geeeeze!!! I remember going for our Sunday drives as a kid and we'd ride out to Sodus and visit the little cheese stand in the middle of the country to get cheese. Now all you have to do is stop in any supermarket here. I doubt the "little stand" exists anymore unless someone is selling vegies by the side of the road.

Funny thing - as a kid it seemed like such a looooooooong ride. Then they put in some faster roads and I got really used to driving past there when my daughter was in college in Oswego - snow capital of New York. I'd be happy to see the sign for Sodus and know I was about half-way there. Ahhhh...the good ole days!!! :D

Actually, we did the weekend drive thing with our kids when they were young. It would be awesome if all 3 fell asleep! Now THAT was Helava GOOD!! LOL :lol2::lol2:

Woulda thought the sponsor would fit Bristol better.....lol..... Heluva race......

so could the tuff break award be the heluva heartbrake award....... pole winer be heluva time winner......lol......

It's definitely a good product. You should try some dips if you have them in your area. It was always a special treat to go out and buy the cheese. Didn't need much to entertain us in those days. :)
