The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Well folks it is Bristol, so trying to decide what on track contact might or might not be placed in one of these categories is an impossible task. Tempers fly and fingers are pointed, both figuratively and literally, without much hope of consensus.......

The Good - Luck for 6 drivers. Green flag pit stops late in the race are interrupted by a caution. All but 6 cars are trapped lap(s) down.
----- Ricky Rudd and Greg Biffle get their first top 5 finishes of the season. Indeed the first top 10 for either driver this year.
------- Matt Kenseth picking up places. From 37th to 2nd. I have no clue what the season record for this might be, but until the team learns to qualify, I bet Matt has a very good chance of shattering it.

The Bad - Luck for another handful of drivers. That same caution mentioned above trapped some very strong cars lap(s) down. Among them Spencer, Gordon, and Rusty who all had shown a real potential to win this rodeo.
------ Kyle on a stretcher. Came within inches of clearing Ward's spun car, but those inches were enough.

The Ugly - Bill Elliott and Jeff Gordon, drivers of considerable experience and intelligence can't figure out how to get on pit road during a green flag stop. And exactly what were their respective spotters and crew chiefs doing. Must have been nappy time for both teams.
------ The Von Ryan Express, how can you be so fast on Friday and so out to lunch on Sunday?
------- A big double handful of cars running at the end. DJ maybe the award winner. The blender was on high Sunday!
 
The Good- Rudd, Marlin, and Bobby for finishing on the lead lap.
The Bad-Kyle getting hurt. Stewart getting sandwiched.
The Ugly- Robby Gordon, just how many cautions did he take part in causing. I know at least 3 he was right where the incidents started.
Mark Martin taking a spin all by himself, the smoke from his spin causing the accident that messed Stewarts car up.
 
:) I enjoyed the race due to the outcome primarily.Great to see Greg Biffle finally getting on track.

Nice to see the newly confident Ricky Craven give Robby a little bump,too!

And the Bobby Labonte comeback is on full throttle. :)


On to Texas now.Back to the aero sensitive stuff,I guess. :(

The Good: A good showing for Ford again! I see another MFG Championship in the horizon!
The Bad: DJ causing that caution that left only 6 cars in the lead lap. Yeah he's my favorite but I can still be mad at him, I am that flexible! Pretty much ruined the race for me.
The Ugly: Ken Schraders car....Please get rid of that paint job I cant stand it anymore. It's making it almost impossible for me to continue to root for him

The Good: Not a single Roush engine lost all weekend, with four Roush-powered cars finishing in the top-5 (Busch, Kenseth, Rudd, Biffle).
Jamie McMurray & Ricky Craven finished 11th and 15th in cars that looked like they came out of the yearly Enduro at my local short track.
All three RCR cars finished in the top-20.

The Bad: Terry Labonte and Jerry Nadeau both crashing out of the top 5. :(

The Ugly: Lapped cars. Lapped cars. Did I mention lapped cars? They were getting in the way all race, and (in)directly caused numerous wrecks, which led to several top cars being taken out of contention.

That's the truth. It pretty much ruined a very good race by taking so many cars out of contention. :eek:
 
The bad - I caused both Jeffie-Poo and Crusy's problems. I had Jeffi picked on four and Ruty picked on two of my Yahoo legues. That is the kiss of death.

Maybe Robbie should change his last name to Bodine.
