#49-Ken Schrader…………out
#98-Jason Jarrett…………first attempt

Shepherd, Green, Fittipaldi, Lepage, Foyt, Schrader, and Jarrett are wasting tires. Bliss and Jones get in on time while Mike Wallace gets the last provisional.

Your experience, opinions, and mileage may vary :D

I thought NASCAR had decided to forego the race this Sunday what with Lil'E's concussion and all and just award him the win. I mean if he were to lose wouldn't the Sun crash into the Earth or something. I know I don't want to risk that...

The rest of the positions would be pulled out of Mark Martin's hat...

Skinny limb indeed.....with 50 cars it's an anything can happen thing.....I figure both Jones and Bliss simply because they will probably have the cars while the others are iffy.

Will have a better grip after first practice

I dunno. You'd think that Jason could get in on time in an RYR ride. In 17 starts dating back to 1995, DJ has only used one provisional in that time span. I'd bet though they are going to try some wild stuff in that R&D car that Jason will be driving. Could be a good or bad thing.

Plate tracks are so hard to figure, most of those 71 writes are likely correct. There is a distinct possiblility for some ringers to get in though.

First practice starting up any moment, perhaps we will learn more. Still have to be cautious since ya can't see the session. Just a little bit of draft makes a big difference..........

the bottom after practice.....

37 #16 Greg Biffle*
38 #97 Kurt Busch
39 #74 Tony Raines*
40 #4 Kevin Lepage
41 #31 Robby Gordon
42 #77 Dave Blaney
43 #190 John Andretti
44 #99 Jeff Burton
45 #14 Larry Foyt*
46 #154 Todd Bodine
47 #30 Steve Park
48 #180 Mike Bliss
49 #17 Matt Kenseth

Matt Kurt Greg Dave Robby Steve and Jeff get the provs.....forgot all about John, he's a tire waster for sure.

So Foyt, Bliss, Andretti, Bodine, Raines, and Lepage are going home if all things remain the same although I can't hardly believe the speeds are not draft aided for a bunch of folks.

Going to be a very interesting qualifying session that's for sure.....with JJ going out almost dead last he looks like a shoe-in for the pole.....but Lepage, Andrtetti, Bodine, Schrader and Fittipaldi all go early while Foyt and Bliss are in the early middle, with Jones and Wallace going out late.

Why can't there just be 44 or 45 cars? :D

I wouldnt rely on practice as an indication for qualifying. Maybe some drivers got good drafts and scored good speeds, while others didnt.

As far as RCR goes, Harvick is the highest around late 30's I believe. Robby, Steve, Andretti (in an RCR car this week) are all in the late 30's or 40's. Im sure they are sandbagging. They have done the same thing at all RP tracks this season so far.

An even more interesting note is that perhaps the entire Roush contingent is sandbagging knowing that 500 miles on a plate track is godawful long ways.

And yer right about practice times....qualifying results so far show Fittipaldi Skinner Spencer R Gordon Lepage and Bodine all above 51
