I'm getting very excited about the realistic possibility of the Orioles playing PLAYOFF BASEBALL! :beerbang:

Orioles just beat the Boston Red Sox 4-2. One game behind the Yanks for first place in the AL East.

Oh, yeah, the Nationals clinched a playoff spot yesterday. First time a DC team has gone to postseason baseball since 1933.
 
I've been rooting for the Orioles, myself, for a while now. I'm not really an Orioles fan, but since they are battling the Evil Empire (also known as the Yankees) for the division I have been behind them completely. I absolutely despise the Yankees. They are most of what is wrong with major league baseball. They simply outspend every other team, and they get the benefit of entirely too many calls. I saw a day game they played a week or so ago. The other team was rallying in the ninth inning, down like one run or so when the home plate umpire decided that the Yankees needed to win so he could get off work early or something. He called a third strike on a guy when the pitch was halfway between his knee and the ground and then called strike three on the next guy on a pitch that was clear in the other batter's box. It's happened on fan interference on home run balls in the post season and way too many other times to count. I don't understand how someone can root for them. It's like rooting for Microsoft or something.
