The impending server change

It has me rattled and paranoid.Waiting for it to happen.

First I am receiving GERMAN posts!Yes,you read that right.

Second:I am repeating myself a lot on here...something I never do.

Fourth:I have agreed with Bowtie on at least two occasions.

Fifth:the word 'fifth' is harder to spell than you think!Just doesn't look right.

Sixth:When is this thing going to take place anyway?Please dont say "It tells in that post you didn't read,97"!

While theyre at it, maybe they should update their vBulletin software.

This isn't Vbulletin. Paul used that in the past.

As for troubles with posts and such, if I understood the new owner correctly, the forums are being moved to another shared virtual server with a different hosting provider.

Thus, if this change is currently taking place, time is needed for the DNS change to propogate. It can take up to 72 hours sometimes before the DNS information gets to updated with most ISPs. (currently it is still pointing to the old host.) This could be causing some of the problems or someone is messing with the database.

Guess you'll all need an official answer from the owner as I am just mentioning possibilities.

1. German posts? Can you give me an example?

Try clicking the "My Controls" link at the top of the page, and go to Skin and Languages - is there any other language besides English in the list?

5. I know what you mean. It's such an odd word to pronounce, too. Kind of makes you get a dry mouth if you try to say it ten times in a row. :lol:

Highboy is correct, this is not vBulletin, it is Invision Power Board

However, a software upgrade is planned. I just need to make sure I get all the style elements as they are now saved so that the look and feel of the board remains the same in the transition (the header, buttons, and the graphics for the table headers, such as the ones for the two bars at the top of this reply page). This is to make the shock value of a forum software upgrade as minimal as possible.
