Lets see the king-petty has 7championships and over 200 wins ! not bad but if you look at the real king of racing-STEVE KING KINSER he has over533 wins and 20championships !!! so who is the real king of racing? KING KINSER !!! nuff said :) :)
 
too bad he couldnt be competitive in Nascar when he tried....
 
Look at the car he had? junk!!! #26 bernstein car junk!!
 
trickle had over 100 short track wins; none in the big leagues just in late models!!!

Over 1200 wins in many different classes, I doubt any of todays drivers will ever come close to that......not even K. Schrader. :D
 
I don't the king was called "the king of racing" more like the king of NASCAR
 
yeah; but i am talking about steve kinser not richard petty !!! to alot of dirt track fans; steve kinser will allways be the KING OF OUTLAWS AND SPRINT CAR RACING period !!!

Yeah, but this is a NASCAR forum.
 
Yeah; but everybody thinks petty is good! lets see race today? he would have get his butt handed to him; because when he won all those races and championships; there were no stewarts; gordons; johnsons ect!! but when some one refers to the king ; there will allways be the steve king kinser !!!!!!

go back to the dirt forum.. of course petty couldn't win today he's old.. i dont think ne of those guys can win when they're his age either
 
cry; cry cry; who cares about petty; what he did to the nsl; who really cares; i know he lost of the dirt track fans after pulling out!!! also his cars have not won in how many years?
 
Kinserfan11, it's obvious that you are a fan of Steve Kinser. Nothing wrong with that. BUT, there is a place on here to discuss dirt racing and it's drivers. This forum is for NASCAR. If you'd be so kind, let's keep it that way.
 
Man talk about causing trouble.............. There is no denying Kinser is a great DIRT driver, but let's compare apples and apples here.
 
I only posted that to compare petty to kinser? in my opion ; hand down to stve kinser !!!
 
But, you are still comparing apples to oranges by comparing a premier dirt driver against a premier stock car driver.
 
why? stve has more wins; 52 years old; still wins; last year won 26 races? could talk to him any time; not like petty!

kinserfan11, i try to refrain myself from name calling..but i think in this case i must call you a bonehead..... (considering it's better than any of the words that were exchanged over stewarts radio in the 500......)

Im going to step on an limb here and say. Sprint Cars and Stock Car are to totaly Diff Animals, but it takes a very special person to drive a sprint car. I would say an Sprint car is one of the hardest racecars to drive, While a NASCAR stock car would not be a barrle of monkeys, would be easer to drive then a sprint.

but just since someone can win races in a sprint dont mean they can win races in a stock car. Diff strokes for Diff Folks.

The Bernstein car was not junk at the time Steve tried his hand at NASCAR's premier series. It was not the best but it was above average by comparison to other cars competing regularly at the time.
The fact is, Steve Kinser had the lowest starting, finishing and running at finish percentage of any other driver in the entire ten year history of the Bernstein Quaker State car. When Hut Strickin finished the year in the same cars after Kinser's efforts failed, Stricklin posted five top ten finishes and one pole. Not the sign of a "junk" car !!!!!

The problem Steve had in trying to prove himself in NASCAR's top series was changing his driving style and unlearning what he had trained to do to win in a sprint car. When it came to Nextel NASCAR racing, and with all due respect to his talent, Steve Kinser was out of his element. Kinser was more or less pushed into the ride by Quaker State and had he taken the time to practice or spend time in the Busch Series before leaping into Nextel Cup, he might have been more successful. In the final analysis, Kinser easily qualifies as the "king" of the WoO's, but he has no accolades or awards in NASCAR.
