The Mansfield owner is just a little wacky..

Well, first I noticed the two month or so old Mansfield facebook group appeared to be deleted.

Then I noticed the two month or so old Mansfield website (which wasn't even showing up in Google searches), was deleted. It did have a schedule with 7 or 8 weeks worth of mainly Ohio touring late model series, besides the ARCA race.

Then I find this article in the Mansfield newspaper.

Apparently the ARCA race is still on. Why me man? I last tried to go to an ARCA race at Cayuga last year that was cancelled a month out.

I tried to email the promotor( Joe Mattioli) but got no reply. He did reply to that same email address last year about the race last year.

Oh yes, and I just today saw that PM you sent me on that matter way back in January. This happens to me on all internet forums, I rarely see the PM's.

The article I linked is actually a sports writers opinion piece. There are 3 or 4 other recent articles in the Mansfield paper; one gives what the entire schedule was supposed to be; another claims Mattioli and Dzurilla (or whatever his name is) were going to meet with ARCA officials at the Toledo race last weekend.

Well, I hope they get this all figured out before it is too late. Last year when Music City Motorplex cancelled they had plenty of time to get a replacement. I hope they don't do what Cayuga did and just cancel it too late. By the way, there is actually talks of Cayuga opening next year with new ownership. I saw a post about it on http://insidetracknews.com/forum . I doubt ARCA would ever go back there, and Canadian Tire Series already has too many tracks that want them for their 13 race per year schedule... I'll be watching for any news about that one too...

Well, it's 6 weeks out. The old Mansfield website hasn't been updated since last year. They had a new one with a different domain name that popped up around late April, but it's been erased (mansfieldmotorsportsparkonline.com) They actually deleted their facebook group created around the same time! They also gave away dozens of pairs of tickets to Facebook fans to races that are now cancelled. So I sit here with no clue how to buy tickets 6 weeks out. And yes, I have hotel reservations, as I did for Cayuga last year. I don't think this race is going to happen.

Thanks for the forum link, I never thought to look there. Not just that thread, but there's all kinds of informative chatter on Cayuga dating back a couple of years.

Hey, Mansfield is really happening!! I have to admit I was getting a little worried. But ultimately this week Mansfield updated the "old" website, which hadn't been touched since last July. The "new" website, created for this mostly aborted season, remains erased. Tickets are on sale (less than 4 weeks out) on the website, and at Menard's locations. I'll be there, hopefully it will be a good race.

I saw this yesterday and meant to post it. Glad it's actually happening.
