During NASCAR's unprecedented growth in the early 2000's, I wasn't quite sure what to make of it.
It seemed everyone and their mother were fans.
Fox was cutting away to commercial break with hip-hop music. ( Nothing against this genre. There's a time and place for it. Just not during my NASCAR race. Thank you very much.)
Britney Spears was leading the charge for the starting of engines.
Caviar and wine were being served up in the skyboxes.
......and so on, and so on.
Well, what goes around, comes around. Judging from what I saw this past February at Phoenix International Raceway, it looks like real NASCAR fans have been making a steady reemergence.
All is well, people. All is well.
