I love short track racing (Taylor's Version)
So, because there's a meeting next week at my primary job, an hour and a half away, I called to request off from my other job that night. I also asked what time I come in Sunday (4 or 5) and they said 5:30, and you work tonight at 4.
Schedule came out Sunday and I was off Friday and Saturday. Apparently, they changed my schedule (because someone else called out three days in advance) and never notified me. They never called and asked if I could come in on my day off, they never said "This dude is out and we need you to come in". They never even called and said "You're coming in Friday, your day off, or you're fired." Apparently, corporate told the manager not to notify me as I should already know.
Then, corporate told her "He should already know we're never going to give him a weekend off during the holidays." Um, actually, you did. So, I told the manager "Yeah, well the head guy is a dick like that, if you change the schedule, let me know. Oh, and I'm gonna be an hour late because I'm an hour away and I still have to go home, get changed and come in." (That's right, I found out about my shift 90 minutes before my shift started, even though I have tons of errands to run that will be put off for ANOTHER entire WEEK).
And they aren't giving me next Friday off either. Most unprofessional way of doing something I've ever experienced in my working life.
From now on, I'm not requesting off or giving advance notice. I'm just gonna call out sick.
And then the next case is when my mother called me five times... it's OBVIOUSLY an emergency when my mother calls five times. Usually, it means someone's in the hospital or dead. Nope, couldn't take a break from cooking to make a 30 second call. Meanwhile, the "cheerleaders" (teenage girls that work there) were literally dropping food (that I had to keep remaking) and stopping everything to text their boyfriends and call their boyfriends.
From now on, since I have a headset on anyways at all times, I'm answering my phone when it rings like that.
$170 of wasted product tonight. And corporate's more concerned with the fact that I need a day off then the fact that they have a bunch of complete idiots working for them.
Needless to say, when I quit (which will hopefully be soon), I won't extend the professional courtesy of giving two weeks notice.
It's been a long night.
