As we know, in 2004, alot of changes will be afoot such as Sunoco taking over as the primary fuel provider for all NASCAR series and the most major change: Nextel is going to take over as the title sponsor of the NASCAR Cup Series. Adding to that, the Winston will now be known as "The NASCAR Nextel All-Star Challenge."

The latest rumors have been that the All-Star race will remain at Lowes Motor Speedway like it always has, however the big-wigs at Nextel would want to see the race moved to Richmond International Raceway, which is somewhat close to the Nextel HQ.

So, where do you want to see the All-Star race held? Do you want it to stay at Lowes? Or Go Somewhere else.

Too many changes have taken place in the past few years for my taste, and traditions need to stay more stable. IMHO, keep it at Lowes.

I voted to leave it at Lowes. With all of the travelling that these teams do in the course of their season, leave this race close to home!

I think they should run it at a track they don't race on during the season and rotate it to new tracks. Kentucky comes to mind maybe PPIR, drum up some interest at other venues. Nascar won't buy it though, but just a thought. B)

They should move it to the new Houston track.

Hey, I can vote my self interest as good as any.

Leave it at Lowes but Richmond would sure be close to me and it is a good track.
Can you imagine the bumpin and bangin that there would be at Richmond in the Winston/Nextel race where points are not a consideration.

This past year, NASCAR has messed with enough stuff. If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Leave the race at Lowe's. This is a great opportunity for the friends and families of the pit crews to come and see them in action and cheer them on. Don't mess with success. This is just my opinion, your milage may vary.

Well I'm voting against my own self interest in this one and saying keep it at Lowes for the same reasons as majestyx stated.

I think they should move it to a different track every year

Move it around!
An Idea I like is this.

Each year prior( during schedual time) have each race track bid on the right to hold the All Star race. All Proceeds NASCAR would get goes directly into some of the NASCAR driver chairites, such as the Victory Junction, Jeff Gordon FOundation, Tony Stewart Founndation etc.

hell here's a better idea let the fans pick the track, Have ballots at all the tracks or do it on NASCAR.com. Pick from a list of 10-15 tracks

Sooner or later, they will try to put this race in the middle of the week so they can possibly add a race to the date it normally has had. If they do that, I say move the race around to different tracks. If they choose to keep the race for a whole weekend, then I say leave it where it is. It gives the teams a sort of week off in many ways. Closer to home. :)

I say we hold the All-Star race at the end of the season, and hold it at Talladega or Las Vegas or Indianapolis, and keep it at night too.

so Buckster, how did you vote? :p

I voted to keep it at Lowes. But if they did move it. Then move it to Nashville. Only 175mi away from me. ( My own self intrest)

I also voted to keep it at Lowe's(Charlotte),but Bristol at night would be great fun also, can't have too many night races at this great concrete short track IMO ;)

Even tho I voted for it to stay at LMS,it wouldn't bother me if they rotated it between Charlotte,Richmond,Bristol and Dover. Dover is another track that should invest in lights btw.

Dover looks rather nice under the lights on NASCAR Thunder 2004.

I also noticed on NASCAR Thunder 2004 that the second Dover race in career mode is a night race. Looks like either EA Sports made a mistake, or they might have a crystal ball of some sort.

I say Las Vegas should have a part in maybe hosting the All-star event 5 or 6 years down the road, track looks brilliant under the lights, I saw the CTS race there a couple months ago and damn was it exhilerating. Also, not only would it be a good place to watch the race, the fans could see certain tourists hot-spots and have some good off-track activities. If only they could somehow better the racing and competition at LVMS , then it'd be a leading candidate to host the Nextel-All Star race.

I'd also throw in Talladega, Chicagoland, Kansas, Richmond and we cant forget Atlanta.

Atlanta Motor Speedway would be an excellent place to host the allstar race
