Roush Picks 25 Drivers
Twenty-five men and women are one step closer to realizing their dream of becoming a NASCAR superstar as Roush Racing and Discovery Channel today announce the list of drivers who will compete in this year's Roush Racing gong show. Jack Roush and his team of judges poured over 1,700 applications and narrowed it down to a list of 25 drivers from across the United States, Canada and New Zealand in search of the best drivers to take part in this exclusive competition. The winner will be awarded a fully sponsored ride in the 2006 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series. Roush Racing is teaming up with Discovery Channel to capture all of the excitement and drama of the competition on film with unprecedented access to the gong show. Candidates will compete on and off the track, testing their skills behind the wheel as well as their marketability and fan appeal. This high-energy 13-part series will debut on Discovery Channel this fall.

Good Luck Petey Shepherd !!!

One of our local TV stations had a nice article on the testing at Martinsville yesterday and talked to a few of the candidates. Of course, one of them was the oldest at 28, but it was because she is a woman...Sondi Eden. Don't know why they didn't talk to the other female. Would have loved to have been able to get up there and checked it out, but work, work, work. :(

Christi Passmore 23 Pryor, OK ARCA
I used to watch her race 360 Sprint Cars in Oklahoma. She can drive a car and has had some success with ARCA.

Bud Kaeding 26 Indianapolis, IN USAC
Comes from an extremely successful bloodlline of open wheel race car drivers. Runs USAC and WoO as well as wings out in California.

BUT!!!

Michael Lewis 26 Noblesville, IN USAC Sprints & Midgets
I have seen this guy race several times. He has won the Turkey Night Grand Prix at Irwindale Speedway. A heck of a nice guy. My vote goes to him. Oh yeah.. Mom is a great lady as well.

Christi Passmore?! That's a damn racing name if I ever heard one.

He's Top 6 Now!!

It has been reported that the field had been narrowed down to 4 contestants and that a winner was to be announced yesterday or this morning, however everyone is being tight lipped about the winner(s), since the show has turned into a reality show, as opposed to the documentary they originally set out to film.
