The Parotts Gone

from jayski

Parrotts Out? hearing some rumors that Todd and Brad Parrott have left Robert Yates Racing, still checking into it.
UPDATE: hearing Brad was released and Todd is on some sort of leave from the team.(4-8-2003)

I have been fortunate to listen to the 88 teams chatter each and every race through Pit Command on Nascar.com. Just a few things that I observed:

- Lately DJ's cars have been pretty much "junk" in his own terms. It seemed like there were several times DJ and Brad disagreed on how to fix the problem. Sometimes Todd would jump on and throw in his two cents. Other times Todd was having Brad switch over to another channel and they would talk privately.

- I read in a article early last week that DJ does not like his crew chiefs to be cheerleaders. Brad was like that alot. Always on the radio trying to pump DJ up.

- At the beginning of the season the whole focus was to have the 38 and 88 setups identicle. Aside from Carolina where DJ won most of the other races the cars were quite a bit different from what I understand.

- Remember it was Todd Parrott that had the ego problem when he took back over the reigns of the 88 last year and it was him that cause the rift between the 28 and 88 over the last couple of seasons

It may be the best that RYR wipe their hands clean of them. We will see when official word comes out though.

Jeff Burton....here's your chance!Hope Roush snatches them up quick.
I agree, Jeff needs to capitalize here!

I can think of a team that would be happy to have Todd as a GM if he wanted to...LOL
Didn't one of the Parrots and Kyle work together before, SABCO or PE?

And they don't have Ricky Rudd to blame everything on this year. :p

I don't think Todd will be on the market long. Don't know that much about Brad. But he may find a job on the strength of the family name.

I hope Brad goes back to work with Roush and Jeff Burton. They were always strong in the Busch series and could do very well together again in the Cup series.

:D Who's gonna take his place, I like old DJ. Hope he can get someone to help him out. :D

Thank you Robert, hey Brad dont let the door hit you in the ..........

Doug said it well, this team has not been performing and they all had to have been getting frustrated. Hope the transition goes smoothly for them all!

cant see why roush isnt on the phone with him right now, i honestly cant see him landing with any other team then burtons

Just as I had suspected. DJ and Brad were just not on the same page.

I'd almost bet that Todd's competitive nature was causing the two teams not to work together as close as they should be. It is a known fact that he is a majority of the reason the 88 team alienaited the 28 team a few years ago. Now that the teams are back under one roof it probably was not going to work out.

LOL. Well that didn't take long, Jayski is reporting Brad Parrot is the new Car Chief for Jeff Burton.

Dale Jarret is way past his prime and seems to blame everybody else for his shortcomings...Jeff Burton is really in the same category. I feel sorry for the Parrots.

Do you think the Parotts are crying??? ;) My husband and I get a chuckle out of them crying all the time, so how about now!!

If I made that kind of money I'd walk around crying all the time too!

:bounce:

According to Winston Cup Scene, Brad Parrott was rehired by Jack Roush. He will work under Paul Andrews. Now that Brad has a job, what will Todd do?

don't be suprised that if the 99 team doesn't turn aroung soon that Parrott would take Paul Andrews' job. Now that would would hurt Andrews because he would have 2 super teams that he couldn't turn around.
