The Pope quits...

Ugh. We gotta go through this again? It was unbearable watching TV the last time.

I like the fact that the article pointed out the Benedict worked very closely with John Paul and saw the deterioration of John Paul's health. It had to have affected him greatly. Why stay for life, if you cannot be effective in your job?

It couldn't have been easy for him to have made this decision.
And, no, I'm not Catholic.

I'm not a Catholic, so I'm wondering....Isn't pope one of those jobs for life? I thought you had to stay till you die.
I heard that yeah you can quit, but the last time a pope quit was like 700 years ago. I'm not catholic either, but seems like it would be a very tough job, especially as you get really older.

Oh and I wonder what the odds are that the head football coach at Notre Dame gets the pope gig. He did get them to the BCS championship game after all.

It's more likely Joe Paterno gets the job based on his resume.
