The pressure will be on ESPN/ABC in 2 weeks when they take over broadcasting Cup races. Fox's ratings were up and TNT's appears to be on the way to finishing up as well. If ESPN's ratings are even or fall below last year, what kind of changes, if any, will they make? Most people agree that Jerry Punch should be the studio host instead of the "play-by-play" man. But ESPN awarded Punch that job based on loyality to the company, something they do often. Will they continue that loyality and make someone else the scapegoat?

ESPN's coverage is much improved. It still sucks, but at least it's watchable now.

I said last year the ratings problem was a result of ESPN's takeover. Everyone else had solid ratings, down but not down considerably. ESPN's ratings sunk the whole ship.

But you know they'll say "It's because Junyer made the Chase" if they do go up.

I'm looking forward to being at Richmond and Dover and not having to listen to ESPN's coverage.
