Redskins finnally beat the cowboys again
Final 1st 2nd 3rd 4th T FOX
Dallas 0 7 0 7 14
Washington 0 7 10 3 20
Darrell green's last carreer game with 20 years with the redskins, might also be emmit smiths last carreer game with the cowboys because of salary issues.
Smith: I'll play anywhere
Emmitt Smith could be on his way out of Dallas because of salary cap issues. If so, the league's all-time leading rusher went out sputtering, gaining a season-low 13 yards on 18 carries in the Dec. 29 loss at Washington. He finished with 975 yards on the season, failing to reach 1,000 for the first time since his rookie year. Smith said it was a "huge distraction" this week. "I do want to play next year. I don't care if it's in a Dallas Cowboys uniform or anywhere else,'' Smith said. "I still want to play the game of football because I still feel like I can. Once the evaluation process goes on with the Cowboys and so on, they're going to find out that I'm not the problem. I'm not the problem. We have a lot more problems than just a 33-year-old running back.''
Green says farewell at 42
Green appreciated the salutes.
Darrell Green did an early farewell lap, and then he cried. About an hour before Green's 295th game with Washington, the 42-year-old cornerback made the rounds inside the stadium, waving to the early-comers, giving hugs and high-fives. He held up a fan's sign that read: ``Thank you, No. 28,'' and Emmitt Smith came over to offer best wishes. Green retired Dec. 29 after 20 seasons with the Redskins, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and community service. He and Jackie Slater are the only two players in NFL history to play with one team for two decades. "There's no way I could be who I am without all of you," Green said as tears streamed down his cheeks in a ceremony before the game against the Cowboys. Washington ended a 10-game series losing streak, beating the Cowboys 20-14.
