I cannot understand why this year I know the names of more than a dozen rookies , many of whom haven't even made it to ARCA yet. I will list a dozen, you can probably name many more. My question is ,is there room for them all? I honestly don't think that in years past , I could name more than one or two below the Nationwide series. Here are a dozen.Maybe its TV today.
Ty Dillon
Austin Dillon
Brandon McReynolds
Robert Pressley's boy
Chase Elliott
Ryan Truex
Cory LaJoie
Shane Hmiel
Darrell Wallace
Sergio Pena
Mackenna Bell
Paulie Harraka

I can tell you pretty much 100% that Shane Hmiel will NOT be running in Cup.

I agree, but I can't stop rooting for the guy.He is a talented young man,and many would have given up already.

Ty Dillon - won an east series race
Austin Dillon - won a truck race
Brandon McReynolds - ran some arca
Ryan Truex 2009 East series champion, won a race this year in the east and ran nationwide
Cory LaJoie i think he ran in the east series?
Shane Hmiel running usac?
Darrell Wallace - first black guy to win in the east series (2 wins this year)
Sergio Pena - did good at irwindale, hasn't done much in the east series since
Mackenna Bell - she ran most of the east races but lost her ride(she was pretty bad)
Paulie Harraka - won in the west series and ran 1 nationwide race

Darrell Wallace

With a name like that how can he go wrong? ;)

I think half of those arent even 18 yet. I hope that rivalry between truex and wallace continues for awhile though. Those two seem like they really hate each other on the track.

I wouldn't leave Chase Elliott off that list. That young man's been tearing it up in the southern late model ranks. (EDIT -- he is on the list, whoops missed it)

I'm starting to lose faith in Johanna Long (great super late model racer out of Pensacola), I knew she wouldn't be great at the start in Trucks but I wasn't expecting her to be terrible.

Just because they do great in late models and ARCA doesn't mean they'll even make it to Cup. Kerry Earnhardt and Steven Wallace both did great things in ARCA.

Chris Buescher, Max Gresham, Dakoda Armstrong a few ARCA guys I'd keep an eye on.

I heard there was a fight between those 2 in the garage after the Lee USA Speedway race.

Parker Kligerman, someone no one has mentioned.

I like PK but I don't expect his career to go anywhere. Don't expect many of these drivers' careers to go anywhere not as long as the Nationwide Series continues to be a 300 mile test session for the Cup drivers. And that's gonna get worse with the new car since it's a lot like the Cup cars.

They said Wallace was walking out of his press conference when Truex was walking in and they got into it right there.

The only 3 I can see in the Nationwide series next year is Austin Dillon, Ryan Truex, and Paulie Harraka. The other 9 may have the potential but unless they got a bundle of money or huge sponsorship they can watch Joe Nemecheck, Landon Cassil, and Derek Cope run 5 laps and park instead.

By the way Shane Hmiel has given up on stock cars last I heard he has been hanging out around the Indycar Series trying to bum a ride off somebody there.

Shane is a worthless POS.
damn, that's harsh for kid a that young that hasn't done anything to even serve jail time (to my knowledge). he may not be a future nascar star but there's a whole lot of other things in between nascar and being a worthless pos. <g>

It may be harsh but I think it's true. He showed no respect for any drivers on the track. Remember how he talked about DJ during that Nationwide race at Bristol. Plus, he's shown he doesn't have the sense God gave a duck.

^^i agree and I thought it was his 2nd offence the last time nascar gave him the boot. I mean he was running good I remember and gets busted again. They had him on Windtunnel one night and it sounded like USAC was almost the only place that would take him.
