This will be the first one I haven't attended. We went last year, the first one since we moved in '23, and the new logistics proved too much of a hassle. I hope whoever has my old seats has a great weekend; they're the best view in the place.
Im really going to try to go next year. This fall didn't work because I'm into my last two semesters of student teaching and money is to tight. I will go next year, because the haters of this track are too numerous and I fear it will fall off here soon and I want it for my track count.

Goodyear Racing Notes — Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL

All three of NASCAR’s national series will have familiar Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setups for the final road course race of the season this weekend, on the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.

The NASCAR Cup Series road course tire introduced at the start of this season will make its sixth appearance this weekend, having been used at all previous road courses in 2025 – Circuit of The Americas (COTA), Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez (Mexico City), Chicago Street Race, Sonoma Raceway and Watkins Glen International.

Goodyear introduced a new road course tire for the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the July race at Sonoma, which has since been raced at Watkins Glen and the Xfinity Series’ outing at Portland International Raceway. NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series teams have so far only used this 15-inch road course tire at Watkins Glen in August.

“The Charlotte road course combines tight chicanes, a slower infield section and much of the track’s oval, making for a unique combination of track characteristics to round out the road course schedule,” said Rick Heinrich, Goodyear NASCAR product manager. “We’ve introduced new Goodyear Racing Eagle tire setups for all three series earlier this year, so we expect teams to be comfortable with their setups by now. This Cup Series tire was designed with increased lap-time fall-off in mind, and we’ve seen it perform as expected.”

All three series will have wet weather tires available in the case of inclement weather.

I keep looking for an announcement about changes to the track. They seem to do it every year. Maybe they finally have it right.

I don’t necessarily hate this track, but something about it just doesn’t feel right to me. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it almost feels like it should be a gimmick exhibition race. But it isn’t.
