•Mayfield will appeal drug case: Suspended driver Jeremy Mayfield, as expected, will appeal a judge's decision that ruled in favor of NASCAR in his lawsuit over a May 1, 2009, drug test that he says was a false positive for methamphetamines. Mayfield filed the notice of appeal last Thursday in federal court and has 40 days to file the actual argument for his appeal. Depending on how quickly briefs are filed in the case, a hearing could come in May in Richmond, Va., but more than likely it will come no earlier than September. U.S. District Court Judge Graham Mullen ruled Mayfield had given up his right to sue through various waivers he had signed to compete in NASCAR and questioned whether Mayfield had the evidence to support his claims that NASCAR erred in ruling he tested positive for methamphetamines.(Sporting News)(12-28-2010)

that's all? seems like only a decade ago.

I just hope something goes this guys way soon. Most I think would of dropped it by this point. The fact that he keeps fighting tells me he was truly wronged. I'm sure he doesn't plan on running the cup series again anyway. Just trying to clean his name.

I doubt he'll clear his name, but if he does I seriously doubt he'll ever drive a top tier stock car again.

He's toast as far as ever coming back to Na$car. Maybe he was falsely accused and is trying to clear his name. We all know how hard it is for Na$car to admit they goofed.

If it ever comes out that Nascar was wrong about all this couldn't JM sue them for a lot of money?

They have enough money that they could keep this thing going for ever. I don't think that JM is able to retain good enough attorneys that can out combat the France's unless he can find one that will work pro bono. Don't think that will happen either.

Regarding the lab NASCAR used, it's not the first time. We ran a report on it on RFTW in 2009... JOURNALISM FTW!

I wish NASCAR would just give him a few million and shut him up so he can run ARCA or something. If he is a meth user, he sure looks healthy.

I know Meth users that are not tore up tweakers. In fact, not many of their acquaintances even know that they are using.

No that can't be! We all know that their teeth are rotting and their general appearance has 'meth user' written all over them. :D

Seriously, I don't even know why there's an argument still going on about this guy. He's a driver that failed his drug test. If I remember correctly, didn't he also fail to disclose the medicine(s) that he was on which was another violation of the drug policy? The guy got caught. Rather than go through the program of being reinstated, he chose to fight his case in the court of public opinion. Looks like he's gaining some ground.

I'm still waiting for his mini documentary to come out. When are they putting together all of that camera footage from his personal film crew after all of this took place?

I couldn't resist posting this after reading more of this dysfunctional crap from the family, Mayfield.....

From SceneDaily >Full article<

Who could come up with this kind of stuff?

SALISBURY, N.C. – The father of suspended NASCAR owner/driver Jeremy Mayfield obtained crystal methamphetamines from his son, and when their relationship soured, Jeremy stopped providing the drug for his father, Jeremy’s estranged stepmother Lisa Mayfield said in a lawsuit deposition.

The accusation was revealed in an exhibit filed last week in Jeremy Mayfield’s wrongful death lawsuit against his former stepmother, whom he has accused of contributing to the death of his father, Terry.

I guess she forgot about that part when she gave her first statement.

not much money in documentaries. probably looking for a movie of the week deal. maybe even a reality show.

I know. Can you believe that? It must run in the family. It's kinda like how Jeremy had forgotten to mention all of his BS about France ordering him to be black-flagged in all of his previous appeals. Just when you think you've heard it all, some other crap comes out.
