What is your honest gut feelings about the last race of the season? If nothing else I am thinking this has to be one of the best championship battles in a long time.I also want to thank all you folks new,and old for giving me a great place to discuss this year.I am not going anywhere if you all will have me through the winter.I promise to be a pain in the arse at least once a week with my roll call thread. And thanks to you Paul who has built this wonderfull site. And you monitors,What can I say? You are the greatest. You pick us up when we are down, and yank our chain when we are human tyrants. Thanks for a place to chat, and chit. All of you.:)

You said it all pbunch!:)

And my honest opinion of the last race of the season this year?

Exactly what you said.......this is the BEST POINTS RACE that I've ever seen!! I actually can't really decide who I want to win the most! Either driver will represent NASCAR honorably after next Sunday's race.........who ever said Homestead was going to be a boring race sure missed it this year!!:D

Positions all the way down to 10th (and many way down below that, even) will decided!! What race fan could ask for more?:)

i wonder if guys will be crazy and wreck because they havent won enough or not enough

They might wreck because they want another position or that they want to win........but I doubt that any will wreck because they are crazy!:)

I will be back,My daughter has to do some homework.See you guys in a halfhour.:)

I think we will see alot of drama this weekend. A lot of wrecks, passing, and gutsey/stupid moves. The points are way too close for the drivers just to sit back and drive this week.

Pbunch, I definitley second that motion!

Thank you ALL for being great racing and internet friends!

PURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Iwould love to see Mark Martin win the points championship. I don't think he has too many years left to do it. Also anyone remember the year he lost the championship to Earnhardt by 26 points? Nascar penalized him that year 41 points. Looks like they have stole another one from him.

This board has been a great experience for me. Unlike others I have visited, the people here are nice. :D

I will be glued to the TV this Sunday. I think it's going to get wild. It's the last race, so everyone is going to go all out. No holding back, no Mr. Nice Guy. Everyone wants to win the last race. I hope it is a safe race.

I think Paul and the other mods will agree with me.....we are only as good as the people that post here are. So, I think we are pretty dog-gone good!

We've had a couple of little problems, nothing worth even mentioning. Its been a lot of fun and I've met a lot of new people. You guys have very informative, funny, and put up a good fight for your drivers. (Paul, Mr-I-don't-have-a favorite-driver-but-Tony-is-a-god, comes to mind. Just kidding dude!!!!!;) )

We've gotten a lot of good choices for mods. also. Its gonna be hard to choose from all the people here......a real tough choice. But regardless of who is choosen, I know they will do a great job and keep this place going.

Thanks to all the members!! :beerchug:

I'm sure lots of people remember that. Twelve years ago. NASCAR or anyone else didn't steal it from Mark........and they aren't stealing it this time either. But, I guess I'm talking to myself on this.:)

Sunday will be a good race.......and I'm pulling for Mark as much as I'm pulling for Tony.

Tony Stewarts gonna win Homestead and beat Mark Martin by over 25 points so no one will be able to say nascar took it away from Mark.

Whoever wins it has truly earned it,Lets just be glad that we have such a great event to watch, and debate. It has been that type of sport for many years. We are just caight up in the present.I for one will be glad to say I saw the year 2002 in Nascar. :)

I think Tony is going to end the season the way he started it. I really think his engiene is going to expire very early in the race and he will finish 42nd.

Now that's drama for sure.:)

If that does happen to Tony..........it will not change the fact that this year is the best Championship race ever!!

You know what? I bet Tony would even agree!!:)

Tony will end the season in the top 5 if not first. Mark will race hard but think he's destined for 2nd again. Question is how's the next 6-8 palces going to play out? I look for Rusty to come in third :) What the hell, Jeff will end up 4th in points.

This last race is going to be a great one. With all the guys from 3-7, other drivers trying to finish in a better spot, going for the extra money and spots, it will be something to see. It will be interesting to see who if anyone is willing to really go for it and risk something happening to gain spots and points.

Whether Tony or Mark wins, it will have been the points race that I watched and enjoyed the most, granted I haven't watched as long as some people. I think that Mark still has a chance, no matter how small, and that is certainly going to add something to the race.

And I too add my thanks to the other members and moderators of the board. Thanks for being nice and having such a great board. Sure made what time I have spent here memorable. :D

Been a long year and the guys deserve a break. A bit bummed that it's over but Homestead is one of those anything can happen kind of places. Glad it's not a cookie cutter. Would hate to see the last race of the year run on a generic race track. Would hate to see the championship decided on a generice race track.

And if ya haven't guessed already, I like Homestead. Just a great big bullring.:D Kinda surprised nobody downshifts to come off the turns. Couple sorta long (real) straightaways, and a couple very very low bank 180 turns.......out giddy-up or out brake or you ain't gettin by cause if ya try the long way around ya lose too much ground.

I am kinda wondering which Roush car/driver is going to take out Tony tho. You see, I'm expecting it to happen. I am expecting to see team racing come Sunday. Or maybe somebody else might think it's suddenly pay back time and take the tiger out. Or maybe it will be Bobby doing a number on Mark, or maybe somebody else. On a flat track all it take is a bit of a chrome horn and yer spun baby.

Then again, with the low gear ya gotta pull to get off the turns, how ya gonna keep the revs down far enuf to get that motor to last the whole day?

So what do I think of the last race of the year? I think it's gonna be a great race. Porbably turn out like ragga ragga on tv with too many commercials at all the wrong times, and way too much hype for my blood but with the tightness up and down the standings there are going to be more than a few folks giving it all they got to finish first to finish first.

With 51 cars entered it's gonna be wild one. I can't wait.:)

NASCAR didn't steal nothing. Roush Racing screwed up and they have to face the consequences. They need to check the parts before they put them on. Roush Racing will be responsible again for losing a championship, not NASCAR.

I am looking forward to Homestead, I would like to see Mark hoist that trophy up but I'll be happy if Tony takes it. Third place is still wide open right now, that will be an interesting fight to see.

I am going to miss racing over the winter, but god created football so I'll have something to do on sundays:)

I'm sorry to see the last race --- withdrawal is so hard on this old body. LOL

The points race from 3rd to 7th is a humdinger. It's going to be no-holds-barred, Katy-bar-the-door racing. I wish every driver and team the best of luck.

After this Sunday, the teams can retire to their respective corners and rest. Come next February, they'll be ready to go again.

I would like to say it's been an enjoyable year. All the new members are absolutely delightful, and it's been a pleasure working with you. You posters are the backbone of the forum, and I salute you.

As fergy said, we have a difficult choice facing us selecting the new mods. All I can promise is that we'll do our best.

Spots 1-7 are all available for the taking. As much as I hate Homestead I think it might be half decent to watch this year.
