I finally saw the movie The Shawshank Redemption yesterday. I've wanted to see it for a long time, but never felt like commiting 3 hours of my life to watching it. With the kids being gone this week, I have an awful lot of time to kill and noone to share the tv with so I decided to watch some movies I've been wanting to see.

It was a really good movie. Good acting and a really good ending is always a great combination.

Then, later, I watched Hard Candy with Ellen Page. That was a decidedly different movie. It was really strange and especially twisted in a lot of ways. Ellen Page and Patrick Wilson both did some good acting in this one too. I'm not sure how I feel about this movie, whether I liked it or not.

Anybody else seen these movies? If so, what did you think?

I like Shawshank didn't see the other one though, was it a drama, comedy or action flick?

It was either a drama or a psychological thriller. I'm not sure exactly what they classify it as. I'd say it was more of a drama myself.

Shawshank is a great movie, probably in my top 10 favorites.

Never seen the other one though.

Shawshank is one of my all time favorite movies. I have watched it numerous times. I even visited the Mansfield prison, where a lot of the movie was filmed.

Shawshank I've seen a bunch of times, and still don't get tired of it. Great movie based on a Stephen King novella. (however in the book, the Morgan Freeman character was actually a red haired Irish fella...but the movie is so good I let that little detail slide)

Never seen (or even heard of) Hard Candy
