I'm going through the races from 1949 to the present preparing things for my database at ERaceFans.com. In doing so I keep seeing certain names of races and would like to know the stories behind the names.
Some are obvious (the Southern 500, the Firecraker 400, etc.) but others I'd like to know if it was a product and tribute, etc.
Off the top of my head I have the Sandlapper 200 from Columbia, the Myers Brothers 250 from Bowman Grey, and the Crabber 250 from Langley Field.
