The Wood Brothers and their first championship

With Ryan Blaney in the final 8, I think that it might be a good time to discuss the possibility of the Wood Brothers winning their first NASCAR championship.

Is anyone else on board?

If you have a ticket for the lottery you always have a chance of winning.

What do you mean ... possibility? :D

I can see Ryan sneaking into the final 4. The odds of him winning a championship are slim but it'd be nice to see the #21 in victory lane with a Cup, especially since this might be their last chance for a long time (unless one believes that Paul Menard will suddenly spring to life).

Perhaps you haven’t seen my declarative statement.

I realized the other day they had never won one, it blew my mind, even though it makes sense since they ran limited schedules.

You’re right. There are more important subjects on the board.
I doubt that, but I don't see where this topic could go. The possibility has been acknowledged. It's there for seven other teams too. What's to discuss?

Oh, and you made an interrogative statement, not a declarative one.

You could talk about the likelihood of it happening. You could compare Ryan's stats to the other chasers. You could talk about what it would mean to the sport. Or we could talk about Danica some more.

You asked a question, no? And I brushed my teeth AND used mouthwash.

I prefer the term "absolute" statement to declarative but that is just me. If I say Keith Emerson died in Santa Monica in 2016 I am making a short but declarative statement. If I say to someone "close the door" then it is imperative..........I think..............can we move on to dangling participles?

What makes a better story:

Wood Brothers get their first trophy!

"Little Team That Could" out of Denver dominates to win the Cup!

Heck, NBC assures me Martin alone has at least three.
lmao I saw on here they said Kansas was a home track too lmao I cant wait to watch the race in a few hrs when I get home. Let's see we are up to New Hampshire, Dover, Texas, and now Kansas as home tracks? I am sure I am leaving one out

The Wood Brothers would be the better story to long time fans and it would genuinely cool to see Ryan, a big fan of everything retro, be the guy who brings the championship home for the Wood Brothers.

Hell of a long shot for Ryan to pull one out of the hat. Heck of a story if he did. Going to Penske next year with Menard driving for the Woods? ah not good for a cup championship in their future. But they still get to race when they were about done is the story for them if you ask me. Oldest team in Nascar.

All items are Penske including Blaney and Bubbles, sure it has their name on the door, but don't be fooled.

No ........ Ryan Blaney isn't going to win the championship  A Toyota will win the championship

You and me both.

My fantasy has Blaney and Elliott tied when the race in Homestead is over. The tie-breaker would be a heart breaker in Awesomeville.
well for them to tie in today's NASCAR they have to cross the finish at the exact same time. No other way to tie.
