Jr. said he won't ever run the #3 again. I wonder if he'd run that Wrangler paint scheme on is #88, isn't one of his sponsors Wrangler?

Personally I thought the whole thing was pretty lame marketing gimmick. I am glad that he went ahead and got it out of the way so maybe people will stop asking him about driving the 3, I hope he never does it again.

i think he will run whatever paint scheme his primary sponsor wants him to.

That is true . But he won't run the #3 .

I wasn't talking about him running the #3 I was saying he and his sponsors should think about Jr. running the Wrangler paint scheme on the #88. Like dpkimmel2001 said it was a nice looking car and I think it would look just as good with the #88 on it. And just think of all the yellow and blue stuff Jr. and his sponsors could sell.

I just watched the final lap of that race and gotta say that was pretyy cool. I take back what I posted earlier.

Junior said he would never drive the #3 car again, that someone else could.

Childress was interviewed after the race and said the #3 car would never run again. I do wonder if that applies to Austin when he moves to NNS?!?

I don't think austin can hold up the legacy of the #3 in the NWS, he aint doing a very good job in the CWS

Yes, four top 10's in 9 races, 2 poles, 11th in points really sucks in your first full time venture into the Truck Series. No Earnhardt, that's for sure. But really, what does it matter? Childress currently has the rights to run the number. I can't see NASCAR taking that away from him for as long as he wants it. A number is just a number, even the 3. It wouldn't supprise me at all to see his grandson run it some day.

are you sure he said that? my memory could be wrong but i thought he said he had no plans to run the #3 again. plans can always change. never doesn't leave much wiggle room.
