Since I've had time to sit and think (dangerous, I know), I would rather see Dale sit out Talladega and be completely healed before getting back in the car.

I'd rather he take a hit in the points, rather than another hit in the head.

Agreed, I think Jerry Nadeu, Ricky Craven and maybe Steve Park could give him some advice. It must not be any fun waking up the next morning and not remembering what you did or happened the day before; and you never even had any of the sponsors brew! ^_^

Not only could he be a danger to himself. But there are 42 other guys out there. :(

Sit out? Nah!!! Just think of the headlines...Jr. wins 5th straight Talladega race after vicious hit the week before at Dover. All the drama & tears shed in victory lane. Think of all the t-shirts & die casts they'll sell. I bet Nascar is already boring an extra 1/32nd off of each hole on the plate they'll be giving to him.

I truly admire the way you cut right to the crux of the issue 17!PR like this is a dream come true for DEI.Sad but true. The entire Earnhardt legacy is based as much on image as anything else.(Not to sound overly harsh folks)

I had visions of those headlines in my puny cranium the moment I saw the safety crew peeling him out of the car & placing him on the stretcher. (I'm glad he's ok & my first thought when he crashed was I hope he is ok)

ya mean coming from the back after an engine change and being in the big wreck and avoiding hte black flag on a contraversial pass wasnt a good enough headline?

 heck no, this win will put him into 'god-like' status.

i think this is a big scame by NA$CAR to get people to care if jr can make it 5 in a row.

I hope you are being sarcastic.

That was last year. They have to try and top those headlines. As to the statement of the larger openings, I can belee'dat player. The fact that the plates are in a sealed enveloped with the team's name on them leads one to believe that not everything is on the up and up. Why not have them in a box and have them chosen by the gas man randomly.

Oh well, trying to point out Lil'E conspiracies with this crowd is hopeless...

Actually, the plates are kept in one box, out in the open, and chosen randomly by the NASCAR official. He places it on the measurement device while everyone watches. If the crew chief doesn't like the plate, he may request another one --- but only once.

Then it's bolted in place. Out in the open with lots of other crews watching.

yeah me too. I doubt this is a scame. I would hope they wouldnt put a drivers risk of serious injury up as a scame.
