We are having chili dogs tonight with chopped onions and shredded sharp cheddar cheese..........
we have no buns.................
so we are having it on good..............JEWISH RYE bread..........almost seems sinful to do that..to me anyway.........
was saving that for patty melts, but thats next time...going to put tuna salad on it for DE's lunch tomorow..........

Hey cutiepie try putting green apples and celery in your tuna salad! It's great and gives it just a little sweet taste. Enjoy the hotdogs, I skipped supper tonight. Had a ball game and don't like to eat before I play.
 
Sorry, CP, but that sounds awful! :(

I only ever eat rye bread with corned beef. I can't imagine having a chili cheese dog on anything but white bread. :)

green apples sound good, always put celery in mine too......and chopped olives....
I used to play softball on a company team..it was fun.....:)

well, it was nothing to write home about, would rather have had a bun...corned beef and rye..now thats my kind of sandwich...........:D
 
I don't eat corned beef very often but, when I do, it's got to be from a Jewish deli, and it's got to be on rye bread. Oh, and with plenty of brown mustard. :)

Then again, Irish corned beef and cabbage isn't so bad either...

Well I thought it was okay.........not the best chili dog I ever ate but not the worse either!! Oh well......win some lose some. This one might have been a lose!!:(
 
No, what my mother-in-law does to a hotdog is awful! She cooks the hotdogs, makes mashed potatoes and put the hotdog on a bun. Now here comes the bad part, she spreads the mashed potatoes on top and then tops with ketcup and cheese. :bleh: She thinks that's great!
 
that corned beef keeps sounding better and better the more i think of it............brown mustard...that is a must for sure.........

You have a Katz's deli in Houston, TRL?!! Cool! I used to go to a famous one on Houston Street (properly pronounced "HOW-STIN") in NY. That would be the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Been around since 1920. Old school. Hardcore. The real deal. They sell, I think, thousands and thousands of hard salamis. (No pun intended.) Got a famous sign that reads "Send a salami to your boy in the army". Think I'll go visit again soon...

I just read that Katz's is where that famous fake orgasm scene in When Harry Met Sally was filmed. Pretty cool! :)

I guess there are some things about New York that don't suck...

boo, yes, there is a Katz's deli in Houston. The Reuben, or the French dip, the pastrami.....

Oh, geez, now my stomach is growling.
 
No, I am not kidding!:( She had four kids to feed and they farmed so not alot of money. My hubby told me there's two things I can never fix him, one was the hotdog from hell!hehehe and stewed tomatoes! I don't think he has to worry.:p
