Makes me miss Dale even more. That cheshire cat grin and laid back tone.
 
I don't see any reason to take it off. If you do then you gotta take off every other video that has a now dead person in it.
 
That last statement. Wow. Still hard to get over that crash killed him.
 
How long after the race was over did they let the public know he was dead? I wasn't a nascar fan then. I just watched 2001 Daytona 500 Post-Race on you tube and it was almost as if the broadcasters knew and Ken Schrader knew but they weren't telling anyone.

It was later that afternoon that it was offically announced that he had died. But even after the crash everyone knew it was bad. I kept expecting him to walk away like he always did. When they eventually had him airlifted to the hospital, I think everyone knew deep inside that he wasn't going to make it.

I can't believe it's been over 9 years since we lost him. I'd like to share with you some of my favorite images of Earnhardt:

You only had to see the look on Ken Schrader's face to know how bad it truly was. That look said it all in his interview after the race.
