Hitting the track tomorrow night

Dumping 6 gallons per minute @ 100PSI into the motor at full throttle...That's half a gallon in 5.60 seconds. We burned 2.5 gallons just idling for 10 minutes while we got the idle mixture set. Throttle Body is spec'd at 2100 CFM.

Every time you post any pictures of that car I get just a little more jealous. That is just a really sweet looking ride! :D

By the way, how much is the fuel you are burning though there costing you a gallon? If you don't mind me asking. I'm just curious. If you do mind, just tell me to get bent, that's cool too. ;)

gas was 9.50 a gallon burning about 0.5-0.75 gallons per pass (from pit, making pass, return to pit)

Right now we go from pit to lanes on gas, switch over to alcohol, and come back leaned out on alcohol, and we're using about 1.25 gals or so @ 2.80 a gal.

Made 4 passes on exactly 5 gallons of alchohol and half a gallon of gas.

First pass..lets just say that $25 bet I had with a friend (who wouldnt bet against me)..we were both valid. First 1.8 seconds wasn't bad, but from the shift on out was nothing but tire spin.

Made a massive shock adjustment and changed launch chip from 5000 rpm to 4000 rpm, and went 5.58, 5.57, 5.56 all in a row. Previous best on Gas was a 5.63 way back in march. The air we had tonight, might have been 5.69-5.72ish on gas.

Red line is engine RPM, blue wavy line is driveshaft RPM, purple rough line is engine vacuum.

I honestly think we need a slightly bigger wicker bill- just a touch more angle, maybe a slightly longer wicker. It has a 3/4" x 45-60 degree wicker now, need more like a 75 degree of same length or even 1".

The camera picture is of our second run. The photog took a picture of his camera screen and texted it to me.

The conditions for the 5.567 pass were 70 degrees F air temp, 39% humidity, 33.7 water grains per cubic meter, density altitude ~ 1300 feet.

1/8. We're turning 7500 through the traps, would never make it even to 1000 ft without kicking the rods.

Had a racer with a 5.30 somethign car forget to latch his fuel cap down...launched and cap instantly came off and threw fuel all over the radiator and engine (front mount fuel cell). Thanksfully, The track's fire team was there very quickly. Our friend Rhonda was runnign him and said "I didn't see him go by me like I thought he would (she runs 5.94), then i saw the fire truck coming on the track and I wasn't even to the 330 yet".

No mechanical damage to the car, melted some wires and bubbled the paint on the fiberglass hood, but he got out alright and it's just simple stuff to fix. I think he might have hit it with an onboard extinguisher first, I'm not sure. It was a very short-lived fire.

For the record, a 5 gallon jug of methanol lasts 4 passes.
