Had a personal conversation with Paul this evening a few hours after the race. He said the medication should kick in shortly.
Many older NASCAR fans must certainly feel as though the "SHOW" they are now watching on Sunday afternoons is more like the WWF(you know the entertainment sport where the management decides the final outcome no matter what means its star takes to get the win) then what we were able to enjoy all the years before $$$$$$$$$$$ drove the powers in charge.
Racing was done by the driver and crew and not by a rule book. Dale Sr. said it best about getting rid of plate racing. If the boy doesn't want to go 215 mph, then he can just stay home that weekend. We are racers, so let's race. I'M paraphrasing but close.
Juniors fans are fanatical that's for sure and no one can deny that. I think what irks most non-Junior fans is that Juniors legions have lost the perspective to the total picture. Gordon fans (the #24 Gordon for you DEI fans) don't you see a very large decline in the press time your driver is getting? I think the people at "BROWN" are a little unhappy. How many series champions from the previous year got as little TV coverage as Tony Stewart has this year? How about Rusty? Is he off limits to the press since his allegations of cheating? Jack "who" Rousch? Has a near death experience one year the next year he's an able body car owner and no where to be heard of. Richard Childress is he available? Coach Gibbs? Bill Davis? should I go on???????
Their used to be a guy from Randleman, NC I seem to recall his name as Petty. Fox(or should I say NASCAR) where are this men who made this money machine for you?
I can't remember who said it from another post about the boycotting and another stating that their is always someone else to pick up their ticket. Remember, lost revenue of merchandise is lost forever. If a loyal fan boycotts a ticket purchase and that ticket is purchased by a new spectator, that new spectator might never become a fan and the once avid fan is lost. Then NASCAR will take notice.
