PARKER COUNTY, Texas -
A dog was found bleeding, dehydrated and starving in Parker County after someone taped its muzzle shut with its tongue hanging out.
Parker County Sheriff's investigators are seeking information on the suspects who tormented the pug mix.

A resident called authorities Monday morning to report an injured dog wandering Baker Road. The neighbor couldn't catch it, and neither could animal control officers and about 10 concerned citizens on horseback.
The frightened female dog, about 3 to 4 years old, was finally caught hours later by animal control officers. She was bleeding from multiple gashes and suffering from a severely swollen tongue.
The dog, now named Hope, was taken to Bowie Drive Animal Hospital where she was immediately treated by veterinarian Dr. Buchanan.
The animal was dehydrated with a 105.7 degree temperature and unable to eat, drink or pant, according to the veterinarian staff.
Hope's snout was shut forcefully with electrical tape after her tongue was pulled out. The veterinarian told animal control officers that Hope will likely lose a portion of her tongue because it was exposed for more than 24 hours.
The staff says it took 100 stitches to close the wounds from five intentional cuts that were each between one to five inches in length.
Hope is currently on pain medications, antibiotics, sedatives and IV fluids.
Dr. Buchanan says if she is able to eat and drink without assistance, she'll be able to survive.
Sheriff Larry Fowler paid a visit to the dog on Tuesday and was shocked by what he saw.
"This is horrendous," Fowler said. "I can't imagine what would bring a person to such an evil act. We are fortunate to have found her when we did. Our investigators have seen some pretty terrible things in their careers, but this case is deeply disturbing and leaves us shocked."
Anyone with knowledge about this case is urged to call 817-594-8845 or Crime Stoppers Hotline at 817-599-5555.
If anyone would like to contribute to Hope's recovery and care the sheriffs office is collecting funds. Donors need to make checks payable to the Parket County Sheriff's Animal Care and Cruelty Reward Fund.
Checks can be mailed to the Parker County Sheriff's Office at 129 Hogle Street Weatherford, Texas 76086, Attn: Deputy Danie Huffman.
Anyone who wants to donate to Hope's reward fund will need to contact Deputy Danie Huffman at 682-229-2358.
