I know it is too early to write anybody off, but this years rookie crop has gone mostly unnoticed on Sundays. The top rookie in the Points Standings is Greg Biffle at 27th! I sure heard a lot of hype about how they would be as good if not better than last years rookie class. So far, I don't see any Jimmie Johnsons or Ryan Newmans in this group.

You're right they're not, Biffle seems to be the only one with any type of consistancy...not GREAT results...but consistant finishes.

Biffle is definitely the most consistent of the bunch so far. He's a lot lower right now because of the DNQ at Las Vegas, but that will matter a lot less at the end of the year.

Casey Mears and a few others have some potential. But I really don't see any stars coming out of it.

I am one of the 'visionaries' who thought this years guys would soar----particularly Biffle.Still early, but no Stewart or Kenseth or Newman in the bunch yet. :(

Maybe, after the last couple of rookie classes, our expectations were just too high. After all, they are just rookies.

Not even 15% of the season has elapsed.

Biffle, or McMurray, or Mears I do believe are capable and on teams capable of winning a race. Any one or more them could go on a tear and raise some eyebrows.

Though results have not shown it as yet, the word seems to be Casey is gonna be a good one barring misfortune.

maybe these folks just take a little longer, remember a couple of years ago some kid named Busch was like the third best of rookies behind Harvick and Atwood.
