I saw this on Jayski. I thought this was weird considering there is no direction association between the two. Considering you have these conspiracy people that have accused NASCAR of aiding Hendrick, this only gives them more ammo.

Bill France Jr. featured on #48 at Darlington: A special decal commemorating the induction of Bill France Sr. into NASCAR's inaugural Hall of Fame class will be featured on the decklid of Johnson's #48 Lowe's Chevy for this weekend's Sprint Cup race at Darlington Raceway. The decals being run are part of a collaborative program to recognize the inaugural class of the NASCAR Hall of Fame. The Class will be inducted in a ceremony on May 23 at the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte, N.C.(GMR Marketing PR)(5-5-2010)

Very weird. One can only hope the car fails pre-race inspection and they're docked 5,000 points and a brazillion dollars.:D

hey, one can hope can't I?

Who should run it then? They probably figure since Jimmie Johnson is the face of NASCAR right now, he's the one to do it.

Well, well, well. Now the theory has changed from RCR (Dale Earnhart) to Hendrick. I suppose in a few years it will be Gibbs, but wait, RP has been there longer than Joe.

I don't know if it had anything to do with why the #48 was choosen, but I can see how selecting the reigning champion would make sense.

Agreed, but I just wonder why it took so long for this theory to surface. One would have thought that with Jeffy's success, the switch would have been made.

BTW, I have been one of those who have claimed that NASCAR has more or less, helped to find a winner, so to say. I have second hand info from a former NASCAR Busch Series car owner who has told me several stories. He is very credible, but it wouldn't surprise me that what he was telling me was not exact, but an opinion. But still...?

Just saw Jamie Mac on Race Hub --- he's carrying Bill Sr. on the back of his car.

Put the black helicopters away, friends.

I was thinking the same thing. Why does there alwasy have to be soe sort of suspicious theory involved?

What does that even mean? Are you saying that his likeness should be on Gordon's car? Wouldn't you all just be asking why it went on that Hendrick car?

Yes, because it sure makes sense to have the masses upset over the continuing Jimmie Johnson reign. Seems to me, like I read here recently, it would make more sense to have the Most Popular Driver get the nod occasionally.

And as far as RCR goes, I'd think that they'd be more in line to honor Earnhardt Sr. on one of their cars but who knows?

It is probably because he is the reigning champion. That is my guess.

Trust me, the theory isn't mine. But those that believe in that, I know how they think. And they'll be all over this to feed their paranoid ideas.
