Thoughts on Danica's Move to NASCAR full time

What are your thoughts on Danica's plans to move to NNS full time next year with select NSCS races?
 
Happy. I think, with the new championship rules, she can run in the top 5 in the championship run next year. I also strongly feel she can win a race next year if the situation is right, however Nascar still needs to work on keeping the Cup guys out of the NWS races next year. Their stupid championship rule seemed to not work very well did it?
 
I dont think they are ready to keep the Cup drivers out of the Nationwide races it brings alot of fans to that series which in turn brings in all that NASCAR seems to care about lately $$$$
 
I for one love that she is coming over. I think she can win a race or two before the year is out honestly. I'd love to see her do good :beerbang:

I bet that they wont see much of a drop off in viewership by removing the Cup guys. In fact if the racing is good enough the viewership might go up, because now you will be bringing new blood into the lime light.

However what I propose wouldn't remove the Cup guys, but limit them. I propose that Nascar gives every driver only a set number of weekends where they can have multiple race entries. Say give each driver 10 weekends they can have multiple entries. Once you surpass the 10 weekends, then you can only enter into 1 race that weekend. Wether that be the Cup, NWS, or Trucks.
 
I personally would rather see her do ARCA for a year. It'd be good for the series and im sure she would do well. Its easier competition. Give her some real time to get used to stock cars before stepping up to compete against the big boys

Blaze, would you prefer a baseball cap or a beret? I have the ketchup in the fridge... ;)

As I have said in other threads: She will be good for NASCAR in terms of added attention and dollars. But she's a mid-pack driver in an IRL go kart. I have serious doubts that she will win in NNS and certainly not in CUP. But, Joonyer knows that a driver doesn't have to win in order to be popular with the fans and the media! :rolleyes:

You can't compare one series to another thought is the thing.

Heck Tony's really the only IRL driver to come over to do anything honestly.

But lets see

Dale Jr= Nationwide 98-99 what 13 wins? 2 Championships

Jr's been in Cup what 11 yers now? 18 wins...0 Championships

both times he's been with a good team

Jimmie Johnson didn't really do anything in the Busch Series did he? But he's won 5 Championships in Cup and 54 wins

Point being cause you do or don't do good one place doesn't mean you'll not do good in another.

Heck Scott Speed never did good in F1 came to Arca almost won the championship. Hell he has a Truck win so he's even won in Nascar.
 
All true. Time will tell. But Blaze, you didn't answer the most important question! :D

Ball cap or Beret? Hell, I'll even offer up a straw hat if you are in need of a little fiber! ;)

She ran a few ARCA races a couple years ago did'nt she?

I agree with you though she needs ALOT more time in big cars.
 
I was thinking about it today while watching the indy car race. They probably hate it a good percentage of the fans they picked up over the last few years are Danica fans that will probably follow her to nascar and forget all about indy car. I see hard times ahead for the IRL

or, is that Fuhrer? I always get those two mixed up. ;)
