My brothers and I are having a terrible time with my 91-yr-old father. As most of you know, my mom died in March. Things have gone from bad to worse. We're at our whits end with him. Something has to be done and we're trying to work with the doctors and take care of him and we're all wrecks. Thanks.

You are in my prayers and I know how you feel. My Mom takes care of her 87 year old Mother and 87 year old aunt. Mom had achilles tendon surgery and it has all been on me. We have sitters for both but sometimes that compounds the problem but at least we don't have to be there 24/7.
 
Thanks so much everyone. Things went from bad to worse and as of yesterday, he's in the hospital. They need to see if there's anything they can do for his confusion to determine what his living needs will be. I really appreciate all of your concern.

Continued thoughts and prayers. I hope they can find the right answer for your dad's care.


tkj has done a great job stepping up to take care of grandmother and aunt.
 
Sounds like a rough deal. My mom's dad lived to be 99 and she was the only one of her sibs willing to take care of him. :(
