since NA$CAR's are wraps why not create wraps that make the cars look like the real cars they are representing. If the car original was a Dodge, Buick, Plymouth, Ford, Pontiac, or Chevy.

They did '57 Chevrolet wraps once. Looked goofy as all hell........

Man Those were gawd ugly & Manufactors are Sponsors these days so not all would apply. But might be a decent idea.

I know the fans seem to like the idea of throw back schemes and in Nascar's eyes it is a good thing as it provides a distraction to tepid racing. I could do without it until the product is fixed.

Some of the Darlington cars this past weekend were just plain ugly--48, yuck, 88 almost as bad. 14, 2 thumbs down

Huh. The #14 won the fan vote as most popular, although I personally favored the #16.

I suspect the current three manufacturers would object to having their cars branded with the names of non-participating manufacturers, no matter how historic.

Sorry, I ddnt like it. the 43 was nice, 6 vavoline nice, 16 was good too. the 48 just didnt do it for me. I dont like white wheels i guess.

Waiting to see if Chevrolet commemorates the 50th anniversary of the Vega at the 2021 Southern 500.

If that does happen the dry sump oil capacity will need to be increased to at least 55 gallons and they will need to use gear oil if they expect the car to last 500 miles. Back when the Vega came out and full service stations were the norm upon pulling up to the pumps more than one Vega owner exclaimed "Check my gas and fill up my oil."

Ford should commemorate the Pinto on that same weekend. Maybe get Juan Pablo to drive one around backwards during cautions.

As long as Chrysler doesn't want to make a comeback and commemorate any vehicle that used a ballast resistor as half the cars wouldn't start up.

I think the Vega started rusting before it reached the end of the assembly line.

LOL.....you are probably right. I know up north if an owner bought one in the fall by spring time it was not uncommon for the fix mast antenna to no be fixed anymore due to a rust hole. A buddy of mine has a pro street Vega and it is really a nice looking little car when it doesn't disappear before your eyes.

Lemonade from a lemon.

My wife owed a toyoter once, worst POS ever made. lemon law applied, I'd take a Vega anytime over her car.
I had a 72 Corolla and it was one of the best cars I ever had. The boss's daughter had a Vega and it was POS. There was a reason why they didn't stay in production.

I love the Japanese cars. So reliable and fuel efficient.

I will never buy a GM product again. I actually have a Cobalt that I've never driven because I can't get it through inspection.

Instead of trying to fix it, I just said **** it and now I have a Ford F-150.
