So, I was planning on leaving early Thursday to go watch the race with my friend. :growl:

Boss says, "You can't leave early for a race!"

My reply: I've already made up the hours, we're only talking about an hour or two when I've put in 4-6 hours overtime already.

Boss says: But, for a race.

Then boss makes the inane statement.

"You want to leave early to watch guys drive around in circles for 4 hours?"

Some people just don't get it.

Did you think about asking the boss prior to "telling" him.

I was asking the boss. Boss has come around and said she doesn't mind if I leave a couple hours early, at first she thought I was leaving at like 12. Just as long as the cats in St. Charles don't care, I'm free to go early.

At least SOMEONE understands my racing needs.

I'd rather watch cars go around in circles than watch bosses do the same. :D

If you ask then that gives them the opportunity to say no. You should make it as a positive statement and let them bring up the objections. For example, I'm leaving Thursday around 2. A lot can't bring themself to say no at that point.

Oh, and since you work for a woman is she a Fox or a Cougar? Maybe post some pics so we can decide...

:XXROFL:

Tell us what you really think BP, don't hold back now.

A bad day watching cars go around in circles is better than a good day at work!

"All they do is drive around in circles" UGH that statement sets me off everytime. I said, "There it is, the most inane statement I've ever heard."

And some may say......don't bother coming back. :)

I'd probably leave early if someone would pipe in some Speed HD into my house. :D

Why would you want to leave work early to watch some qualifying race instead of making money?

It isn't like they wont replay the race on the SPEED Channel at night so...

Who says it's all about the race? :growl:

Besides, the more overtime you get, the more $$ O'Taxxey steals from your paycheck.

Maybe he's like me and hates watching something already knowing the outcome, but the idiot co-workers purposely go around blabbing what happened just to hack you off.

Well just dont get on the net and avoid ESPN. lol

I always took that day off. Not the same to watch after you know the winner.

Don't have Speed on our cable, you have to get the deluxe version of Digital to get Speed or pay an extra $7 per month just to get that channel. When i build my house this summer no more Cable it is The Dish all the way.

We're switching to Dish soon. We're just waiting for Verizon to offer DSL in our area.

COMCAST BLOWS!

You guys "suffer" an internet lost about 8 or 9 PM last night right? lol

I have a couple of friends that have it and all of them got disconnected at the same time.

It happens ALL THE TIME with them. Twice a week, at least. They don't have enough frequency going here because the area's exploding and they're building new homes every day.

Woo-Hoo, Jr wins another race. He must feel pretty good after winning the 150.

I switched about a week ago. I love it. I hope, I never have to go back to Comcast.

No DSL here , when i get internet in my new house it will be satelite, don't need a hard line (even though i will have to have one for 911 purposes), i wish ATT offered DSL on my street but they don't.

I have DSL through the local phone company. I love it and it is very affordable. I don't even have the fastest one and it is still fast enough for me.

Around here, for hi-speed internet, it's Comcast or nothing. Talked with someone yesterday actually and they say since we're right on the Accokeek border, it may never happen. There's just no demand for it in Southern PGC because they have Verizon FIOS, Comcast, COX and Metrocast in PGC, something our County just won't allow. Choice? HAH! Only "choice" people get here is the choice to have an abortion. Everything else is up to the government.
